What Your Favorite Christmas Cookie Says About You

Every year when my grandma arrives for Christmas the whole trunk is full of bags and bags of tupperware. These tupperware containers are filled to the brim with different varieties of Christmas cookies, the types of cookies you only get once a year during the holidays. This woman must spend hours baking because she uses such a wide variety of recipes it’s almost as if she is catering to any type of guest that might walk through our front door. It could be argued that there is a type of cookie for any personality type. And I do argue that. So without further adieu, this is what YOUR favorite Christmas cookie says about you: (accompanied by a killer recipe to embrace your inner cookie)

Meringue

Meringues are light, fluffy and melt in your mouth. Just like the cookie, you are bubbly and go with the flow and you definitely will be spending your Christmas Eve watching a Hallmark romance movie. Furthermore, your love language is gift-giving, and you can’t wait to give all of your loved ones your handmade cards. With your cute, flirty, woke personality you are in touch with your emotions and the emotions of those around you. You probably are a social science major (communications or sociology?) who enjoys HIIT workouts in your matching sets.

Gingerbread

Gingerbread is the definition of autumn. Fall is for sure your favorite season. You are more introverted and love to get out your sweaters, put on some Folklore, Noah Kahan or Lumineers and snuggle up with a good book. Gingerbread is also comforting and classic, people who enjoy it love to follow their interests. I would argue that in college you decided to take the Polisci, English or History route and while you do enjoy a good Hot Girl Walk every once in a while you prefer yoga in your living room. You are a cat person. On Christmas Eve you will be watching the most classic Christmas reruns, like Charlie Brown, the OG Grinch, and Home Alone.

Sugar

Sugar cookies are simple and straightforward yet delicious. You are no nonsense. You are majoring in some niche specialty because you know exactly what you want in life and nothing will stop you from getting there. But, sugar cookies can also be decorated to the exact detail in an endless variety of creative ways. There is a little part of you that yearns to pursue the artistic talent that you’ve practiced on the side since Elementary school. On Christmas Eve you will be the host of a killer Christmas celebration, that you have intricately planned, cooked and decorated for.

Chocolate Chip

You are literally such a giant teddy bear. Chocolate chip cookies are the most universally comforting and classic cookies that just make the eater feel warm inside. You will personally drive to every single friend and family members’ house to give them the biggest hug on Christmas, and you alone help your grandma cook the big Christmas feast (because you are her favorite after all). You are naturally brilliant and probably are pursuing some crazy advance double major but you also are heavily involved in some service clubs. You have a giant social network because you are naturally outgoing and you are very loyal.

Peanut Butter Blossom

You are the definition of a girl boss. Peanut butter blossoms are bold, rich and bright and so are you. You are definitely a girly in STEM, maybe premed, or a biz/econ baddie. You lift heavy weights in the gym, and I am terrified of you in the best way. For Christmas, you love to spoil your loved ones because you are an overachiever, and you appreciate everything everyone has done for you to get you to where you are now. You have a very close group of friends that you love to adventure with while listening to 90s and early 2000s/2010s girl anthems, and you were heavily involved in your sport your whole childhood because you are competitive, determined and naturally talented.
