Spotify surprised us all this year with the newest location section of Spotify Wrapped. Some people are stumped, trying to figure out how they fit in with their new music city, so I’m here to help you connect a little bit more. Here is what you should ask for this holiday season based on your Spotify Wrapped Location:

Provo, Utah

The one unique characteristic of Provo that I’ve noticed is Lizzy McAlpine. She’s from Philly so I’m not sure why Spotify is placing you in the town of Brigham Young University, but if you’re into sad indie lyrical mixed with some theater music placed in the valleys of Utah mountains, you’ll probably want to ask for a Paint by Numbers kit to help with your mindfulness, hiking boots for the peaks you will climb while blasting “Northern Attitude,” and a guitar because you probably write your own music. You probably relate to the artists you listen to far beyond just their lyrics, so I think Spotify is telling you to find your artistic and creative breakthrough in Provo.

Burlington, Vermont

(This section can also apply to Berkeley, California and Cambridge, Massachusetts)

When I got Burlington as my Spotify Location, I thought it was just based on places you visit, because my long-distance boyfriend lives in Burlington. But, I guess I just give hippie indie bisexual girl vibes. And guess what, so do you! If you got Burlington, you’re into Noah Kahan, Taylor Swift, Mt. Joy, Lumineers, Vampire Weekend, Lana, Maude Latour, Charli XCX, etc. For Christmas you should ask for Blundstones and Patagonia merch, as well as a lifetime supply of Yerba Mates. To top it all off, you should add The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and The Song of Achilles so you can read about gay awakenings in your hammock as you listen to folklore and Norman fucking Rockwell.

SLO, California

SLO is a little hip hop heavy, it didn’t have to be your number one, but I think smaller bands as well as hip hop/rap culminated into the SLO recipe. Nicki, Rihanna, Chris Brown, and Kanye mixed with Juniper Honey, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, and Hozier are the soundtracks to your life. I’m assuming your style is fresh and fleek, so you should ask for clothes from Aritzia (perhaps the Perfect hoodie and sweats set), gift cards for your girls nights out (because it’s a BARBie world) and some fresh bling for your wrists and your neck from Kendra Scott or Tiffany’s to sport while you listen to “Diamonds.”

Bozeman, Montana

If you got Bozeman, you’re into country music but you’re not INTO country music. Your taste in Zach Bryan, Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, Taylor, and Noah give Granola Country and not Country Country. Therefore, you probably need some new flannels for your already flannel-heavy wardrobe, Birkenstocks (because you got some “Sand in [Your] Boots”), and a special sentimental gift from your significant other, because we know you’re a hopeless romantic at heart.

College Station, Texas

If you got College Station, you’re INTO country music. Based on my roommate’s blaring of Megan Moroney, Thomas Rhett, Dustin Lynch, and John Pardy on a daily basis, I’m assuming you have a similar repertoire to her. Therefore, with your quirky southern flare, you should ask for jewelry and accessories from Altar’D State (trust me, look it up), cowboy boots (I don’t know how you could “Die a Happy Man” without them), and tickets to StageCoach.

Ann Arbor, Michigan

I would characterize Ann Arbor as “Girl Town” based on the common lineup of Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Ariana Grande, Boygenius, Olivia Rodrigo, and Taylor. Mixed with Michigan, this gives a mix of sad girl winter and hot girl summer. So, for your sad girl side, you should ask for Laneige to keep your lips safe in the cold and a scarf from Aerie, because it “Feels Like” zero degrees most of the time in the winter. When it’s time for you to blast “God is a Woman” and “All-American Bitch,” hope for a leather jacket in your stocking, along with the newest products from the REM, Fenty, and Rare Beauty lines.

Davis, California

Davis, for some reason, became the home of all boy bands. From K-Pop to 1D, the boys are teaming up in this agricultural city of California. Since Spotify believes you belong here, you will probably want a bike, so you can scream “Best Song Ever” on long rides with your friends. You should probably also add the newest edition of Just Dance so that you can dance along with your favorite K-Poppers as smooth as “Butter,” and of course some overalls. Both to farm in and to look stylish for your fangirling.

I know I couldn’t hit all the locations, but these were the most popular amongst the women in my life. I don’t know how Spotify picked the cities, if they had some crazy formula to generalize all their users, but I hope this helped you learn a little bit more about your music demographic.
