UCLA at #8 in The World Reputation Ranking

The recent Times Higher Education World Ranking Reputation listing for 2013-2014 listed UCLA as having the 8th best university reputation. Nestled in one of the most beautiful parts of the always sunny Los Angeles and averaging about 100,000 applicants this year, it’s no wonder that UCLA was ranked above schools such as Columbia, Yale, UPenn, Johns Hopkins, Cornell, and more.  

The Times Higher Education rankings are determined by an invitation only poll that was spread across several demographics and even countries. The poll that determined the 2013 rankings received 16,639 responses from across 144 different countries. UCLA managed to reach outstanding scores of 35.6 for overall reputation, 33.3 for teaching reputation, and 36.8 for its reputation for being a research university. UCLA was even described by Times Higher Education as being “A leader in college athletics” and an “institution [that] comprises five undergraduate colleges, seven professional schools and five health science schools”.

So if you weren’t already proud enough to be a Bruin after a 38-28 win over USC or after our men’s basketball team came out as Pac-12 champions this season or just by seeing how beautiful our campus looks as the sun is setting over it, you should be now! Go Bruins!
