Not that we need another reason to love UCLA, but who can resist rockin’ out to the harmonizing melodies of our very own Lady Danville? It’s pretty difficult to avoid melting at the sound of their voices, not mention their smokin’ hot looks, but it’s even harder to deny that these former Bruins are on the brink of superstardom. After becoming members of UCLA’s Awaken A Cappella, Michael Garner,
Matthew Frankel, and Dan Chang combined forces to create the
indie pop group, Lady Danville, whose catchy tunes and clever lyrics have taken them on tour with megastars such as Ben Folds, and most recently, Dashboard Confessional.Their upbeat sound is perfect for late night Pandora sessions, or cruising down Sunset with the top down. Although they may seem untouchable, the boys of Lady Danville haven’t forgotten where it all began, and they frequently make appearances at UCLA functions to dish out a little Bruin love. They may be part of our fam, but let’s not forget about supporting the trio outside of the Bruin Bubble. They recently performed at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, where the trio serenaded expectant crowds with their most popular hits, including Anthem and Love to Love. If you missed out on the action, make sure to check out Lady Danville at http://www.myspace.com/ladydanville, and if that isn’t enough to fill the craving, get an inside look at what’s going on with the boys on tour at http://ladydanville.wordpress.com/! With Lady Danville as living proof, think twice before rolling your eyes at the guy strumming his guitar in the middle of Bruinwalk.. We Bruins have a knack for turning out talent!
