This dress is more famous than soley because it was worn by actress Lupita Nyong’o at the 2015 Oscars. This week, it was reported missing from a hotel room, which is problematic because Lupita doesn’t even own it, as most celebrities don’t purchase their Oscar gowns. The Calvin Klein dress is composed of 6,000 Akoya pearls, meaning the dress’s price is a cool $150,000.
It was reported that several staff members had access to the room in the London Hotel off Sunset Boulevard from which it vanished. On Friday, the police seemed to have found the dress in a bag under a bathroom counter in the hotel.
