Imagine this: you are doing your nightly doomscroll on Instagram, and you see all of your classmates at amazing places during their spring break. It’s normal to feel left out, but youjust wish something could change. Well, what if a fun weekend or spring break trip was within reach?

Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to go to Rosarito with Papas & Beer and LVIN and stay at the Rosarito Beach Hotel for the weekend. Spoiler alert: It was really fun! If you are looking for a mini break away from school that is affordable and fun or are looking for a fun, well planned out spring break trip that isn’t too far from campus, definitely check out the Rosarito Spring Break program with Papas & Beer and LVIN!

We arrived from the border at the hotel on Friday afternoon and left Sunday morning, making it the perfect amount of time for a solid trip, a quick break from the craziness that is UCLA during spring quarter. The room was beautiful, overlooking the ocean– and there were some amazing sunsets (pictured below).

The hotel itself was awesome, in a central location with great amenities, like two pools, a hot tub, and grassy areas with lawn chairs to tan– all right on the beach! The Rosarito Beach Hotel is within walking distance of Papas & Beer and all of the restaurants, so going from place to place was easy and safe. The food was also solid, with fresh ingredients and good prices. Plus, there were a ton of other college students staying at the hotel with the LVIN program, so we never felt out of place. My friends and I sat on the grass and played games, too, where the hotel definitely has a laid back, upbeat vibe, with fun music and helpful staff.

Our first night, we went to Papas & Beer to check it out and see the vibes. The drinks were solid, and the venue was pretty big. It is a great club, and we had a lot of fun. The DJs the first night were also good, and me and my friends had a great time. I would definitely recommend it if you choose to go to Rosarito with LVIN.

The next day, or our full day in Rosarito, we kept it chill during the day. We lounged by the pool, got some great tacos, and even checked out the Papas & Beer day club activities. We played some games, drinks included, and even saw some contests going on where the winners could receive free bottle service that night. Pretty cool if you ask me!

We also got the chance to do some souvenir shopping that afternoon at the local markets, which was so cool! My friends and I got some cool pottery and figurines to remember the fun we had in Rosarito, what we now call a hidden gem location for SoCal college students.

That night, we got some dinner at a local taco shop (fire!!), and then we went to Papas & Beer again. And let me tell you, it was awesome. The music was great, my friends and I danced, and the drinks were flowing. Papas & Beer really made us feel safe and that we were having a good time, especially with the open bar and security at the entrance checking for wristbands. There were also three different DJs that night, so we definitely were not bored. We left the club happy and feeling like we really made the most of our time in Rosarito.

Our last day was not nearly as exciting as our first two, but it was definitely fun and safe. As we packed up to leave, we made sure to get some good coffee nearby and solid tacos. Yes we had beef tacos for breakfast, and we got some really good coffee before we loaded the bus on our way back to California.

The bus ride to the border was seamless, where our wristbands were checked and we were escorted to the border where our car was parked. LVIN made the experience easy and safe, where we always felt accounted for and they answered any and all of our questions.

Overall, I would highly recommend going to Rosarito with LVIN and Papas & Beer. Even if you just go for the weekend with them, they truly made this experience so much fun! It was incredibly easy to get around, and with a packed schedule, we were never bored. There was always something to do, whether that was going to the parties at Papas & Beer or just relaxing at the hotel, it was a fun and easy weekend. It was just what we needed for a quick break from the insanity that is spring quarter at UCLA. Who knows, a hotel by the beach with fun nightlife might just make your weekend or spring break!
