With Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” coming out this November, there is an obvious debate about who Rory is going to end up with. There are mainly three contenders, Dean, Jess, and Logan.
Logan Huntzberger is the ultimate match for Rory Gilmore. Here are a few reasons why…
There is no comparison when it comes to Logan’s character development throughout Gilmore Girls. During all the ups and downs that Rory and Logan endure, he still shows how much he cares for her and how much he is willing to change for her, not because she made him change but because he was willing to transform himself.
Let’s reminisce back to the moment when Logan first decided to officially become not just a “boyfriend” guy, but specifically Rory’s “boyfriend.” Rory gave Logan a lot of space to be his normal “no commitment” kind of guy and upon that idea, decided to change for the better. Although there were many faults within their relationship, like any other, through the challenges they prevailed.
Between Dean and Jess, there was never a direct change for the sake of the relationship. Although there are moments where Logan does not treat Rory right, he attempts to learn from his mistakes and tries to become better. When it comes to Rory’s previous relationships, such as the one with Jess, he never really treated her the way he should’ve and is stagnant throughout the whole relationship.
Not only does Logan learn from his previous mistakes, but he shows an endless amount of affection for Rory. Even under the scrutiny of his family, especially Mitchum Huntzberger, Logan repeatedly makes a point to put her above the opinions of those around him. This can be incredibly hard for anyone, even characters on a TV show.
Logan was an interesting addition to Rory’s life, at first. Especially after the turmoil from Jess leaving Rory at her graduation. But through the seasons, Logan became a boyfriend who cared a lot for Rory and respected her entirely, which shows some of the most important qualities to have. Even though the relationship had many negative aspects, ultimately the qualities that prevailed show how perfect Logan is for Rory.
