KCON USA Just Announced Expanded Dates & Venue Changes For 2019 Conventions

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

I can vividly recall the first time I attended KCON. It was during the year of 2014, on a Saturday evening. That morning, I had flown from Oregon to Los Angeles, just for the chance to see some of my favorite artists, G-Dragon and the group Got7, live. I was fifteen years old and had begged my mom to buy tickets so that I could attend, being the K-pop fanatic that I am. That night certainly surpassed my expectations to say the least, and left me in awe. The lineup was incredible, including artists such as IU, B1A4 and even an appearance from singer/actor, Lee Seung-gi. Having only listened to these musicians through YouTube, KCON blessed with me the opportunity to finally see them perform in person.

KCON is the world’s largest fan festival dedicated to Korean pop music and culture. Not only do the conventions feature music from the hottest K-pop stars and rising talents, they also offers guests Korean food and products. Furthermore, this year they will be promoting the Korean lifestyle. KCON gives guests exclusive access to artists and influencers in a one-of-a-kind experience. Consider yourself a K-pop fan? This is seriously the place to be, the conventions are like no other and will enable you to interact with artists and professionals from the Korean entertainment industry.

KCON USA just announced the dates and locations of this year’s KCON New York and KCON Los Angeles events!! KCON New York will be happening on July 6th and 7th, and for the first time, the convention will be in Manhattan with two concerts at the iconic Madison Square Garden. During the day, the convention will take place at the Javits Center. KCON Los Angeles will take place August 15th to the 18th, extending to FOUR DAYS for the first time ever!! This expansion is huge, as it means extended programming and shows, which will offer fans even more opportunities to attend and gain the fullest experience.

More information regarding lineup, ticket sales date and program details will be announced soon so make sure to be following KCON USA to stay on top of all the news. And in the meantime, mark your calendars for July 6th-7th, and August 15th-18th. Watch the promo below ~
