Jingle Ball Village Performer James Maslow on His New Christmas Song & Favorite Holiday Memories

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

Macy’s Rising Star James Maslow performed at 102.7 KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball 2017 on the Village stage on Friday. James, who is known for his role on the Nickelodeon TV show and boy band of the same name Big Time Rush, is no a stranger to the Jingle Ball stage and has preformed and attended shows in the past. This year, James performed songs off his new album “How I like It“—and I wastotally loving it. After his performance, James told Her Campus on the red carpet that he was excited “that some of the fans are showing up and singing along,” especially since the album was just released. Check out our video below:

James’ new holiday song “Christmas Beautiful” might sound a bit like Big Time Rush’s “Beautiful Christmas.” He laughed at the similarity of the song names and told us about his appreciation for the holiday season. For Hanukkah growing up, James once received a new bike, which sparked his interest in BMX, he told Her Campus. While his new music is “more personal” and “more authentic,” James said it would be “fun to do something one day” with his BTR band-mates. He’s not ruling it out! We hope that means there might be a Big Time Reunion soon. In the meantime, we can enjoy each of their distinct solo careers and new music.
