James Franco: UCLA Alumni Makes His Return to Television

James Franco will be making his return to television in order to star in the upcoming thriller 11/22/63. This short 9-episode will be Franco’s current focus while and next big project awaiting the final productions of his movies that are set to realease later this year.

Franco, a noteworthy Bruin alumni, will have the starring role in this Hulu original series coming from the works of J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Production. 11/22/63 is originally a book written by Stephen King which got picked up by Bad Robot Productions in 2013.

The show will focus on Franco’s character Jake Epping, a divorced, yet modest, English teacher* who comes across a time portal which leads him to the date of September 9, 1958. His objective is to try and prevent the assissination of John F. Kennedy which occurred on November 22, 1963. Along the way, he has to overcome certain enemies and his personal obtacles in order to not get distracted and save Kennedy.

Franco will serve as the producer of this series alongside Warner Bros. TV. and a date has yet to be set in which the program will air.

*Fun fact: James Franco got his degree in English in 2008 and has taught a few courses under UCLA’s English department. Coincidence much?
