I Asked 17 People What Love Means To Them & Here’s What They Said

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

I asked 17 people the same question: “What is love?”. Below is a poem made up of their responses.

What is love?

“What one person considers to be love, may not the same for another. People have different needs.”- Martin

To some,

“Love is a hug”- Pamela A.

To others,

“Love is when you share your food” – Brenda V.

Maybe love is

“About pursuing a passion.”- Selvam S.

Or simply, it is when

“You drive on the 405 in rush hour just to see that person”- Sara Z.

And you even

“Make plans with that someone you know is gonna be late” – Mariana O.

Better yet, love is

“When your dog is happy to see you even after you’ve left them alone all day”  -Sierra P.

But never forget that,

“Love is family”- Ellen M.

And that means

“Love is unselfish” – Cynthia E.

Which means

“Love is present even when he is not”- Gloria V.

Because you know that

“Love is knowing it without having to say it”- Victoria L.

But love is not always easy…

“Love is stressful” – Maria V.

Perhaps

“Love is Blind” – Audel G.

Yet,

“Love is unconditional”- Julie V.

“Es universal” – Rosalba V.

At the end of our journey,

“Love is what makes life better” – Casandra G.

Because after all,

“Love is the engine of life” – Barbara T.
