It’s a Wednesday morning and I wake up bright and early for my 8AM. Per usual, I roll over to grab my phone to catch up with the group chat. I check my notifications and open my Snapchats from the previous evening. That’s when I saw it. The number and the little fire emoji next to my best friend’s name – GONE. It was a disaster and an absolute tragedy. Our 450 day Snapstreak had been broken.

I felt completely betrayed. I mean, how could my best friend of over 10 years do this to me? We had worked so hard to maintain this Snapstreak, and for it to just disappear like that was absolutely not ok. I would not have it. So, like the determined girl that I am, I decided to do something about it. After doing some research, I found out that there’s a form you can fill out where you can report a glitch, and if you are lucky, they might restore your streak.

Once finding out this information, both my friend and I immediately filled out the form. We complained about anything we could possibly think of such as “the app was crashing” and “my friend’s phone wasn’t working and had no service.” I know it’s not good to lie, but desperate times call for desperate measures. And it really wasn’t a complete lie because I’m positive that my friend and I did snap each other that day, and neither of us had the timer emoji pop up. Snapchat was clearly at fault here, and I was prepared to take legal measures if my streak was not restored.

Within a few hours, I received an email from Team Snapchat saying that they would restore our 450 day Snapchat streak. It was a miracle!

Not only was a Snapchat streak restored, but a friendship as well. Thanks Snapchat!
