Hot Take: Google Calendar is Better than  Notion

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

This may be controversial, but Google Calendar is much more effective than Notion. I wish I was a Notion fan, I just cannot seem to figure it out. Google Calendar is probably the only app you genuinely need to organize your entire life. It’s reassuring to know that I’ll almost never forget anything and won’t always have to rely on memory. From my next upcoming midterm to any important non-school deadline, I enter every single event into my Google Calendar. With how hectic the quarter can be, it is nice to have everything in one place. If you’re not completely convinced that Google Calendar is an amazing app, let me tell you why it’s better than Notion:

Google Calendar is Forgiving

The day doesn’t always go as planned and Google Calendar makes it so easy to move items around and reschedule. It’s a guilt-free way to still feel productive without feeling constricted because you can edit as you go.

Convenience

The charm of Google Calendar is that you can access your schedule and appointments from your phone or any other mobile device without opening your laptop.

Widespread Use

It is very hard to find someone who doesn’t have a Google account. When you need to share an event or invite someone to a meeting, all you have to do is add their email address.

Overall, I find Google Calendar to be extremely useful. If you’ve tried Notion and have not been able to figure it out, maybe opt for Google Calendar instead! It might not be as trendy and aesthetic, but it works!
