Halsey, Lizzo, Billie Eilish & More Jingle Bell Rocked It Out At 102.7 KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

On Friday, December 6th, Her Campus UCLA had the opportunity to attend 102.7 KIIS FM’s iHeartRadio Jingle Ball at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Many look forward to this annual concert because you get all of the best artists on the charts at the moment in one place, while also getting into the holiday spirit. The star-studded lineup for the night included BTS, Billie Eilish, Katy Perry, Halsey, Normani, Camila Cabello, Louis Tomlinson, Lizzo and Sam Smith

First to take the stage was BTS. The massive amounts of screaming fans started the night off with a bang. Halsey even came out to perform “Boy With Luv” with the Korean boy group. Next, Billie Eilish, the 17-year-old phenomenon with 6 Grammy nominations for 2020, performed a small selection of her hit songs including “bad guy” and “you should see me in a crown,” which both had punk-rock tone to get the crowd even more hyped up.

Katy Perry was next to take the stage (yes, definitely a throwback) dolled up in a tight pink dress with blue snowflake cutouts. Definitely the cutest outfit of the night! Katy had her usual stage dancers, similar to the infamous left shark, including a dancing christmas tree and two dancing gift boxes. The crowd sang along as she performed a bunch of throwbacks including “Teenage Dream,” “I Kissed A Girl,” “Dark Horse,” “Roar” and “Firework.”

Halsey was by far one of the most show-stopping performances of the night with her amazing vocals and dancing. She has such an entertaining stage presence as she knows how to interact well with the crowd, cracking a few jokes about her height. Halsey’s performance included some of her hit songs including, “Bad At Love,” “Eastside,” “Graveyard” and “Without Me.” She announced to the crowd that her album will be coming out in a few weeks.

Two members of the old group Fifth Harmony also took the stage tonight including Normani and Camila Cabello. Normani has solidified herself in the music industry this year by securing a spot on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list and having over 3 billion streams on Spotify. She danced the night away in an all white fit with her dancers by her side as she performed some of her new music including “Motivation.” Camila Cabello hit the stage after, performing many songs off of her new album titled “Romance,” which was released today. Her amazing voice hit all the high notes on her songs including, “Never Be The Same,” “Living Proof” which is from the new album and “Havana.” Cabello also performed an intimate, acoustic version of “Senorita,” but, unfortunately, there was no sign of Shawn Mendes.

Later in the night, the hosts of the show announced that French Montana was unable to make it tonight due to some personal issues. But, to our great pleasure, we got to witness the reappearance of 1/5th of the boyband One Direction. Louis Tomlinson took the stage to perform songs that will be on his newest album (coming out January 31st) including “Hold On,” “Don’t Let It Break Your Heart” and “We Made It”

Lizzo, one of the most anticipated performances of the night, had the whole audience on their feet dancing and singing. Coming out in a Santa style cape, Lizzo danced around the stage and interacted lots with the audience as she performed her catchiest tunes including “Good As Hell” and “Truth Hurts.” During “Truth Hurts” Lizzo even played the flute! She constantly talked about a no judgement zone and wanted the audience to love themselves because everyone should be accepted for who they are.

Ending the night was English singer and songwriter, Sam Smith. Coming onto the stage with amazing dancers, this performance was the perfect showstopper to end the night with. Smith’s vocals are some of the best I have ever heard. He played old hit songs like “Stay With Me” and “Latch,” and had Normani join him on stage to perform their duet “Dancing With A Stranger.”

This was definitely a night to remember and the countdown has already begun for next year’s Jingle Ball festivities. To see recaps from tonight follow @1027kiisfm on Instagram and check out the hashtag #KIISJINGLEBALL. Stay updated with the official iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour 2019 website
