The MTV Movie Awards have given us some of our favorite moments in television history.
Who could forget that time Sacha Baron Cohen fell from the ceiling, wearing nothing but a pair of wings, into the lap of Rap God, Eminem?
Or our favorite moment, when Rita Ora ripped off Zac Efron’s shirt to give us viewers what we really wanted (abs for days).
This year, the MTV Movie Awards will “flip the script” on its award show by including television series. Chris McCarthy, President of MTV says, “the new ‘MTV Movie & TV Awards’ will celebrate even more of the brightest, bravest, funniest and most shared films and TV shows resonating across youth culture.”
In celebration of MTV’s first ever Movie and TV Awards, they’ll be hosting a “Movie and Television Festival,” basically a daylong party outside The Shrine Auditorium, which will feature live music, special guests and food. You might even have a chance to see some of your favorite stars on the red carpet later on in the day!
Tickets and the full list of performers haven’t been released yet, but we’ll keep May 7th and Zac Efron’s abs in mind until then.
