Fun Activities To Do In L.A. During March

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

Spring arrives as the weather begins to warm. The Winter Quarter is almost done, and the Spring Quarter is soon here! With sunny days and a long-awaited Spring Break in our future, here are some fun events to look forward to this March:

LA Marathon

This is the event for individuals who adore running and want to discover Los Angeles through a marathon. The route takes you through Downtown Los Angeles, Little Tokyo, Hollywood and other neighborhoods in LA. The usual route will be followed until Brentwood, where runners will double back on San Vicente, Sepulveda and Santa Monica Boulevards before concluding at Avenue of the Stars.

National history museum first Friday

This event takes place every month, and the March theme is Fandoms and Fantasy. Dr. Yewanda, the event’s host, is a neuroscientist and science communicator who has spent over ten years researching uncommon genetic brain illnesses at both King’s College London and The Lundquist Center at Harbor-UCLA. Not only that, but Jordu Schell will be giving a lecture. Schell has worked in fantasy art and sculpting for almost four decades, contributing to films such as Avatar, Edward Scissorhands, Galaxy Quest and The Mist. If this isn’t already on your bucket list, it should be!

Spring Fest

Chinese American or not, this is your opportunity to immerse yourself in another culture and learn new things. Formerly known as the Lantern Festival, Spring Fest 2023 is a day of family-friendly activities, Lunar New Year crafts, and cultural performances at the Chinese American Museum. It is hosted in partnership with the El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument.

These are just a few of the coolest things happening in LA this March. However, now is a great time to maybe have a study date near the beach as the weather warms up or take a morning hike at Runyon Canyon!
