EVENT RECAP: Polka Dot Summit Presented by Create and Cultivate and Minnie Mouse

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

Last Sunday, Her Campus at UCLA was invited to attend the first-ever Polka Dot Summit Presented By Creative + Cultivate and Minnie Mouse in Los Angeles, CA. It was a two-day weekend filled with activations, food, inspiring talks and the most picture-perfect photo-ops! It was kicked off by a VIP Dinner to get a glimpse and sample of what they should expect during the weekend.

Fans of Disney and Minnie Mouse filled the venue! This event is dedicated to the bold, fashionable, fun and classic Minnie Mouse who has inspired generations of women to be their positive and authentic selves, and this summit surpassed all expectations of its guests. We got to attend Day 2 of the venue and had the most fun and glamorous time there!

Our first stop was to get glammed- MINNIE STYLE! At the hair and makeup bars, attendees were able to get Minnie Mouse ear updos and choose a pearl hair accessory to finish the look! Lashes and lipstick were also applied to us during #minniesmagichour to match Minnie’s iconic style. Thank you to the staff for providing us with the cutest Lip Smacker lip balm and pictures.

After getting glammed up, we were ready to take some positively perfect Insta shots!

Minnie is classic, fashionable, bold and fun- and what better way to showcase it than with the coolest installations! Here’s a walkthrough of the displays:

Minnie is FUN! And what’s more fun than an interactive pastel pink bathroom photo display? Cue the bubbles!

Minnie is BOLD! With a statement sunflower wall, notebook paper background, and tea in hand inside this office, we were encouraged to conquer the challenges we face and inspired to take a leap of faith to pursue our passions! #girlboss

Minnie is FASHIONABLE! With the cutouts of the cutest dresses and high heels, we are almost guaranteed to dress to impress at this closet-themed installation!

And lastly, Minnie is CLASSIC! From her creation in 1928, this brightly colored vintage living room photo-op encompasses the timelessness of Minnie Mouse and all that she stands for.

Following the photo displays found near the main stage inside, we headed back outside and were excited to find even more places to take pictures! Check out the cutest polka dot wall, inspirational wall and the silhouette of Minnie!

Taking the perfect insta shot takes a lot of energy, so next up was snack break! Taco bout’ the best lunch from fusion BBQ taco truck, Kogi!

Pressed Juicery was JUICE perfect!

A MINNIE treat from Jeni’s Ice Cream!

Good food means good mood! The happiness continued as we headed back to The Minnie Main stage, where podcast recordings, meet and greets, workshops and keynote conversations took place! Check out speakers at the summit here

Separating the stage and photo-ops inside the venue were the most amazing #minniestyle items for the Minnie Mouse Disney Collection! Minnie themed shirts, shoes, jewelry, figurines, hats, bags and more were featured in the display!

From countless photo-ops, amazing treats, inspirational speakers and an empowering atmosphere, here’s to a #positivelyminnie experience at Create & Cultivate’s Polka Dot Summit! And always remember— be your own m(o)use and remain positively you!
