Now I don’t know about you, but whenever I think of Disney, I get this magical sensation that makes me reminiscent of my childhood. From watching Disney Channel to now being a current Disneyland Annual Passholder, to say that I love Disney is an understatement. When Her Campus UCLA was invited to celebrate Mickey’s 90th birthday, I was definitely not going to let this opportunity pass!
On August 6th, Her Campus UCLA had the privilege of attending Disney’s True Original Summer of Music Event at the Levi’s Haus of Strauss. This event is in honor of celebrating Mickey’s 90 years of influence on art, pop culture, technology and music. To help kick-off “Disney’s True Original Summer of Music,” Nashville singer and guitarist Devon Gilfillian performed a special concert. Devon even played some of his unreleased tracks including “Full Disclosure,” “Unchained” and “The Good Life.” “Disney’s True Original Summer of Music” will continue the “True Original” campaign that was launched in 2018 to showcase the most memorable musical events and performances.
Upon entering the event, we were greeted by the display of Disney x Levi’s collaboration merchandise that the guests could wear for their cute photo-op.
Next to the DJ station, Beats by Dre also made an appearance to showcase their 90th Anniversary headphones featuring an iconic Mickey print.
Aside from the music, we did not leave the event empty-handed. We had the opportunity to select a Levi’s® shirt with a true Original Mickey Mouse logo on it!
We also got to visit the tailor shop where we got our names embroidered on our own Ears!
Before leaving, we got a chance to take our photo at the yellow Disney True Original photobooth and took home photo strips with us!
We had a ton of fun and definitely felt Mickey’s magical influence throughout the night! All we can say is, “Happy Birthday, Mickey!” from Mikee and friends.
