Calling All Filmmakers: Campus Movie Fest Is Coming to UCLA

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

Calling all Collegiates interested in film and television, Campus Movie Fest is coming to UCLA! Campus Movie Fest gives over one million college students the opportunity to create their own five-minute movie. Don’t worry if you are a broke college student and can’t afford fancy film equipment because Campus Movie Fest has got you covered. They provide students with all the equipment they need, including a Panasonic LUMIX HD camera and Sennheiser sound gear. The tour also offers training and support to help you use these materials. And the best part about the tour is that it’s completely free. That’s right, you don’t have to pay a dime to participate. You can register here.

Students have one week to create their film. The official deadline is November 7. During this time, judges will select the top 16 films to be shown at a red carpet screening on November 16, and we all know how much we love a red carpet here in L.A. The top 4 filmmakers win a $600 value subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud, discount passes to TERMINUS, and have the opportunity to apply for Campus Movie Fest’s Cannes Program. They also get to compete in the national film festival in Atlanta.

All Campus Movie Fest participants can attend the TERMINUS conference and festival where there will be parties, workshops, and great networking opportunities. Campus Movie Fest also gives students the opportunity to participate in the Elfenworks Social Justice Category for the chance to win $10,000!

The second training session will be held on November 6th at Kerckoff Art Gallery from 12pm-5pm.
