As we hit the midterm mark of the Fall Quarter, sometimes other than studying in the dorm lounges or the libraries might not be the place preferred by other students. Often times students would leave the campus to get a breather and even enjoy a cuppa whilst jumbling to finish those essays, projects, and prep for midterm exams. I for one am one of those who prefer to get a breather and enjoy a nice cup of coffee to get through the countless essays.
Coffee lover as well? Or just need a breather to unwind someplace laidback?
Here are two of my go to favorites to try.

Tucked in Venice Beach’s Abbott Kinney, this café in particular has this modern minimalist vibe that often has celebrities such as Jake Gyllenhal, who also come to drink some of their freshly brewed café’s. Their coffee is freshly grounded with coffee beans imported from South America. The taste as well as the setting is just nice and simply minimalist.

If you’ve never heard or tried Alfred’s, I say you should go and check it out. This place is located in the high street fashion boutiques such as Oscar De La Renta, Isabel Marant, and Carolina Herrera in Melrose Place. This café is also a hot spot for Hollywood celebs like Vanessa Hudgens. Alfred’s famous saying, “But first, coffee” has created this mix of a modern yet rustic Parisian setting. It’s a lovely place to sit down and relax and enjoy some nice coffee while still being productive.
