The Best TikTok Trends To Dress Up As This Halloween

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

Since quarantine, TikTok has become one of the most popular social media platforms, and people are creating new content like never before. If you’re a TikTok addict like me, you’ve probably discovered tons of new fashion trends, recipes and music to keep yourself occupied. Since Halloween is just around the corner, here are some great TikTik trends for you and your friends to dress up as this year:

Willy Wonka

Who ever would have thought that Willy Wonka would make a reappearance in 2020? One man who has completely taken over TikTok is the one and only Willy Wonka. For this costume, you’ll need a pair of clout glasses, a black bob wig, a top hat, a black shirt and long red coat. Of course, then you’d have to film yourself doing the Willy Wonka TikTok dance to “I Wanna Love You” by Akon.

VSCO Girl

A super simple, fun trend to wear is the classic VSCO girl. These are the girls who wear tie-dye sweatsuits, carry a hydro flask 24/7 and are always wearing at least one scrunchie. You may also need to take a trip to Starbucks to finish off the look.

E-Girls

Contrary to the VSCO girls, e-girls and e-boys embody skater and gamer culture. E-girls have a very distinct look, especially when it comes to how they do their makeup. They usually wear black eyeliner and draw hearts or stars under their eyes accompanied by dark shaded lipstick and fake freckles. These girls are bold and like to wear black clothing and their favorite pair of Doc Martens. A nose piercing gives you bonus points!

Winifred Sanderson From Hocus Pocus

Remember that movie Hocus Pocus from Disney? On WitchTok, people are dressing up as the witch, Winifred Sanderson, and people are loving it! This costume might require some extra work on your makeup to get the entire Winifred look but in the end it will be worth it. Extra bonus points if you can find a Winifred wig.

Ghost

The ghost trend on Tiktok is super easy to recreate. All you need is a white sheet, scissors to cut holes for your eyes and a photoshoot location. It’s pretty basic and fits in with the whole vibe of Halloween time.

Doja Cat

You can thank Doja Cat for making TikTok’s most beloved songs to dance to. In 2018, she released her song “Moooo!”, and dressed up as a cow in her music video. To recreate this look, you can buy a cute two piece cowprint ensemble with a pair of black and white sunglasses.

Peppa Pig

Peppa, what are you doing here? It may seem odd that Peppa Pig has become an Internet sensation, but I’m not complaining because all the funny videos are 100% worth it. You can dress up as Peppa the Pig by wearing all pink and painting on a pink nose. You’ll definitely be making a fashion statement.

Although Halloween may look a bit different this year with masks and social distancing, that doesn’t mean you still can’t dress up and have a good time. Halloween is the time to go all out and be whoever you want to be. There are so many different TikTok trends to dress up as, so be creative and have fun with it!
