7 Celebrity Style Inspirations You Need For Coachella 2019

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

It’s festival season! If you’re going to Coachella, you must be well familiar with the stress that comes along with picking an outfit. It’s that time of the year where you get to express yourself as creatively as you can and get away with it! Cue the glitter, cowboy boots, blue highlight and head accessories! It can be hard to decide on what you want to wear, given fast trends and the fear of having the same outfit as someone else. You should definitely take this time to turn to these celebrities, who are Coachella veterans, for style inspo for your looks this year.

1. Vanessa Hudgens

Hudgens is indisputably known for her Coachella looks every year. Sometimes dubbed as the “Queen of Coachella,” many of her looks revolve around headbands, bohemian print fabric, signature tops and booties. Hudgens truly redefines the “festival look.”

2. Kylie Jenner

You can call her overrated, but you can’t doubt the creative influence that Jenner has on the general public with her outfits. You can see that many constantly repeat her outfits from previous years. Jenner is, arguably, most notable for her hairstyles during Coachella, constantly gracing many different cuts and colors in one weekend.

3. Rihanna

Oh, Riri. There is not a word to describe Rihanna’s style—even outside of Coachella. Rihanna’s distinctive, unique style sets her apart from everyone else during the festival. Think “loud,” “bold” and “fierce,” and you’ll have our Queen Riri.

4. Kendall Jenner

The other Jenner sister makes this list too. Unlike Kylie, Kendall’s looks are often more laidback and practical. Out of everyone on this list, I would say Kendall’s festival style would probably be the easiest to replicate—and that’s not to say that it’s any less fashionable!

5. Selena Gomez

Gomez’s outfits are definitely daintier—think prints and flowy dresses! She would be a good icon to look up if you’re planning to go for a comfortably chic look.

6. Bella Hadid

Outside of Coachella, Hadid continually impresses many with her unpredictable choices of outfits. Hadid clearly has a flair for fashion, which is evident in her street style. Yet, she takes a more basic and girl-next-door approach when it comes to dressing for Coachella. If crazy and colorful outfits are not your thing, turn to Hadid for your outfit inspiration.

7. Bella Thorne

If you’re looking to show a little more skin, Bella Thorne is your girl. There was a lot of talk surrounding Thorne’s choice of outfit when she showed up in a mesh maxi dress, with just a bra and thong underneath. In her defense, she still made it work, complimenting her look with red sunnies, a hat and booties. Think 2000’s fashion, but very revamped.

This list is not exhaustive. There are so many other celebrities that you could reference from for your outfits. My best advice to you in trying to dress up for Coachella is for you to wear whatever you’re most comfortable in. Because you would be out under the hot sun for the entire day, you wouldn’t want to wear a specific piece that looks great but ultimately doesn’t fit. Don’t let your choice of outfit take away from the Coachella experience. See you in the desert!
