A few weekends ago, too lazy to go out but looking for something fun to do, my roommate and I hosted a game night with several mutual friends. Between elaborate nicknames, sexy drawings and juicy photos, I don’t think we’ve ever laughed harder. The best part? We didn’t spend a dime. We downloaded all of the games we played on our phones for free. With the lack of censorship (both in the apps and in our own dirty minds), these five games will make for the perfect college game night:

Psych

How it works: Once you download the Psych app, you will get a selection of decks to choose from. I recommend The Truth Comes Out — it’s free of charge and easy to play. Each round, the deck will prompt you with a question about another person in the group, and it’s up to you to think of the funniest answer. All of the answers will be revealed anonymously and everybody votes on their favorite one. The winner is whoever gets the most votes by the end of the game.

How much fun: Alright, I know Ellen DeGeneres is somewhat controversial, but I promise this game is fun! Your answers can be as brutal or inappropriate as you want. My stomach ached from laughter by the end of it. The funnier the people that you play with, the better the game!

Photo Roulette

How it works: Download the Photo Roulette app, then one person creates a game for the others to join. Up to ten people can join at once. While waiting for the round to begin, the app will randomly select photos from your camera roll, which you’re allowed to veto until nothing too incriminating pops up. Once everybody’s photos are selected, the game will start! The app chooses a photo from one person’s camera roll, and the other group members will have a few seconds to guess who it belongs to. The winner is whoever guesses the most correct answers!

How much fun: I’m warning you guys now — this game is dangerous. Even with the veto option, my friends and I were constantly getting exposed to one another. Let’s just say, the screenshots I got from this app are iconic.

Charades

How it works: Get this game for free from the App Store, then select the Quick Play option. The app will have a list of all different charade categories already filled out. But, for some extra fun, there is a custom button that lets you create your own charades deck. You can be as wicked or kind with this as you want. Once you click play, the game works like any old charades.

How much fun: This game can be as funny as you make it! Tell your friends to get super-into the characters they’re acting out, or create a goofy custom deck with pop culture celebrities and all the latest tea. Custom charades is always a slay.

Gartic Phone

How it works: All you need for this app is a web browser. Search Gartic Phone on Google. Join a game with your friends, and you will be prompted to write an out-of-pocket sentence. After, you’ll create a drawing for somebody else’s sentence, and then your drawing will be given to somebody else to write a sentence for, and repeat! It sounds confusing, but it’s a simple cycle of draw-write-draw-write until the time is up. In the end, all the drawings and sentences will be revealed.

How much fun: Needless to say, our artwork got pretty inappropriate, pretty quickly. The incredible imaginations of my friends were beyond anything I thought possible, and certain images may or may not have left me permanently scarred. This game is as hilarious as they come.

Evil Apples

How it works: Ever played Cards Against Humanity? Think of Evil Apples as the phone version of this. Download the game from the app store and join a round with your friends. Under the classic setting, you’ll get a handful of cards to play as you desire, and one person will choose the winning answer. The winner is whoever has the highest number of answers picked!

How much fun: The spicier the cards, the spicier the game. I find Evil Apples the most fun when, instead of following the prompt, we play the silliest cards in our hands. Like all the other games, this one can get very raunchy if you *wink wink* play your cards right!

I hope these apps give your college game nights that much-needed pizzazz. Especially during midterms and finals season — a little free fun is just the right de-stressor!
