It’s that time of the year again…..FOOTBALL SEASON! Guys are excited because they get to play their fantasy football league, lay out their aggression on bad plays, and drink with their boys. Girls are excited because they get to dress up in their cute game day outfits and watch sexy, masculine men run around in their tight pants. What’s there to complain about?
Personally, I LOVE everything that comes with football season; the traditions, the ball park food, and the game itself. And the one tradition that Americans love to do is tailgate before a game. It’s fun for both guys and girls, especially when you’re tailgating at home, and let me tell you, us UCF fans do it big. Before each home game, UCF students/alumni/fans tailgate all around campus; prime location on Memory Mall. Different organizations, clubs, Greek life, family, and friends set up tents, BBQ’s, have different kinds of games set up like corn hole and Frisbee, and if you’re of legal drinking age, then play beer pong or flip cup.
But girls, have you wondered what you really need for a tailgate? Well, don’t stress, I’ve come up with a UCF guide for all your tailgating needs.
The Outfit
Dress in your finest black & gold outfits!
Some examples:
· Casual black sundress with gold flats
· Cute black, gold, or white UCF shirts, with shorts, leggings, or jeans
· Accessorize with Nicole by OPI (black nail polish with a gold texture)
· Accessorize with black & gold UCF bows, headbands, UCF hats, and UCF tattoo/ stickers for your face or arm
Backpack/Clutch
Make sure to bring your Vera backpack or your favorite clutch, because organizations usually hand out free giveaways during tailgating. Plus, your bag can carry around your essentials for the day.
Sunglasses
Since most games usually start around 7, tailgating is in the afternoon, and in Florida, the afternoon is either rainy or sunny. So bring those pair of stylish shades to complete your outfit.
Sunscreen/Chapstick
For the most part, you’ll be standing around in the sun, so bring some SPF for your body and lips so you don’t get burned or chapped.
Coozies/Tumblers
Bring your favorite coozie/tumbler to decorate your choice of beverage at tailgates so that your drink stays cold and in style!
Water
Make sure to stay hydrated, because game days are usually scorching hot outside! Just make sure to finish your water bottles before you enter the stadium – they will make you throw them out since opened bottles aren’t allowed in the stadium.
Umbrella/Poncho
Since Florida weather is unpredictable, it might be safe just to carry around a mini umbrella or poncho in your cute Vera backpack if a storm decides to hit.
Tide-to-Go
This is a MUST! Everyone should always carry a Tide-to-Go pen, especially during a tailgate. Things can get kind of messy between burgers, ketchup, and beer spills, so Tide-to-Go can help get rid of the stain on your cute game day outfit!
Ticket
The reason why you’re tailgating is to go cheer on your team! Don’t forget your ticket!
