As a huge Marvel fan, I have been waiting for Avengers: Endgame to come out for almost five years now. It’s insane to think that the movie is finally here because it truly is the end of an era. This has been 11 years in the making with 22 movies. I have been a fan for such a long time and it baffles me to think that it’s over, at least for a while. Although Marvel Studios is keeping the future of Phase 4 on the down low, there are a few features we know about. Disney also announced a new streaming platform called Disney+ along with a lot of new content that will be available on it. Without spoiling anything from Avengers: Endgame, here is a list of a few movies, as well as Disney+ TV shows, that we have to look forward to.

Spider-Man: Far From Home

The good news is that our beloved and adorable Peter Parker will return in Spider-Man: Far From Home. The trailer was also released before the premiere of Avengers: Endgame, which seems like a spoiler within itself since it showed that he somehow came back after the end of Avengers: Infinity WarIn addition to this sequel, there will also be another film since Tom Holland signed a three solo movie contract. However, this movie is the only one we have definitive details about.

The release date is July 2, 2019.

WandaVision

Quite recently, Disney officially announced their set of Marvel TV shows that will be premiering on their new streaming platform, Disney+. This show is going to star Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany as Vision. Presumably, the show will be set before Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, but not much information is actually known. Rumor is, the TV show will have a run time of a total of six hours, whether that includes hour-long episodes or thirty-minute episodes.

Loki

Another TV show that will be released on Disney+ will be Loki starring Tom Hiddleston. Once again, not much is known about this show. The speculation is that the show will be a prequel to the Marvel movies. Supposedly, the show will be Loki being the God of Mischief and meddling in historical events.

Hawkeye

Although this show has not been officially announced by Disney+ yet, there is a lot of speculation that Jeremy Renner will return as Hawkeye. Supposedly, the show will journey through Hawkeye training his new protege, Kate Bishop, who is also Hawkeye in the comics.

Falcon and Winter Soldier

The show that I am definitely looking forward to the most is Falcon & Winter Soldier. Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan will return to reprise their roles as Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes. I love Bucky Barnes with all my heart. I am extremely happy that he is getting a show where we get to see his everyday life. Also, I can already tell the banter between Sam and Bucky will be the funniest thing ever.

Shang-Chi

Shang-Chi is going to be Marvel’s first feature film with an Asian lead. According to the comics, Shang-Chi is the master of kung fu. The script will be written by a Chinese American writer, David Callaham, who was a part of the writing team for Wonder Woman: 1984 and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2. The movie will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton who directed Short Term 12 and The Glass Castle. Not much else is known about this one either.

Black Widow

After many years of wanting a solo Black Widow movie, it seems as though Marvel finally greenlit the project. Scarlett Johansson will reprise her role as Natasha Romanoff in what seems to be a prequel. This film will supposedly show Natasha’s life before she joined S.H.I.E.L.D. and before her first appearance in Iron Man 2. Another circulating rumor states the Sebastian Stan will also be featured in this movie as the Winter Soldier.

Eternals

The Eternals are rumored to be the next group of heroes to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They are supposed to be an offshoot of humans who have powers and are either immortal or have longer life spans. Once again, there is not much information on the upcoming film itself although it is also rumored that Angelina Jolie will be part of the cast.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

After a lot of controversy surrounding the director of the Guardians of the Galaxy series, James Gunn, the third installment was pushed back indefinitely. Gunn had previously already written a script for the third installment and his firing caused a lot of mixed outrage from both the cast and the fans. Luckily, Gunn was eventually rehired but the production for the film won’t begin until 2021 because was hired by DC to direct Suicide Squad 2

Sequels, Sequels, and More Sequels!

It’s no secret that Marvel makes movies in three’s. We got three Iron ManCaptain America and Thor movies, as well as a future third for Guardians of the Galaxy. Typically, the heroes all get three movies. So it is safe to assume that there will be one more for Ant-Man, and another two for Black Panther and Captain Marvel. There is not a lot of information on what those films will be about or when they will be released. Doctor Strange will also most likely get two more movies, especially because the after credits scene alluded to the plot for the next one. There will also eventually be another Avengers movie but not for a while.

Marvel and Fox Merge

Unfortunately, the fate of Fox’s Marvel characters is completely unknown. Now that the X-Men, Fantastic Four and Deadpool are officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there is a world of possibilities. It is quite possible that the next Avengers movie will feature all of the characters. However, it will be quite difficult to merge the two universes together so it is quite possible that the beloved characters might be recast with new origin stories.

I just want to say a thank you to Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr., for jump-starting this whole universe. None of this would have been possible if it weren’t for you. You are Iron Man. Thank you to Chris Evans for Captain America, Chris Hemsworth for Thor, Scarlett Johansson for Black Widow, Jeremy Renner for Hawkeye and Mark Ruffalo for the Hulk. Thank you to our original six Avengers. I love you 3000.

Now all that’s left to say is: Go watch Avengers: Endgame!!!
