Vacationing On A Budget: Spring Break Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

We all know spring break is coming up, and if you’re like me and many others, you don’t have any plans. Many of you might want to do extravagant things and go to unique places over break, but the problem is money. I know of a site called Groupon that can get you into many events for half off. They even have trips outside of the country that you can purchase for over a 50% discount.

  • 7 Night Eastern Carribbean Cruise – $349 (18% discount)
  • Travelers Beach Resort in Jamaica – $159 for 3 nights (44% discount)
  • 7 Night Luxury Resort Vacations in Mexico, US and Canada – $489 (67% discount)

For those who want to stay local there are other activities that you and your friends can get involved in

  • Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Musuem in Orlando, FL – $33.98 (50% discount)
  • Aerophile Balloon Ride – $18 (39% discount)
  • Trapeze Federation for the adventurous – $80 (40% discount)
  • Gotham Dream Cars: Test drive a Ferrari or Lamborghini – $99 (60% discount)
  • Rebounderz: Indoor Trampoline – $56 (50% discount)

Another site called Contiki gives young adults aged 18-35 a chance to travel around the world for a discounted price.

Spring break is a time to get together with friends and soak up the sun before the end of the semester. Some students would rather give back than go spend a weekend with friends. Alternative Spring Break gives students a chance to spend their spring break in a different city helping others by building homes, painting, making clothes, or even making sandwiches at a homeless shelter. This is another option for those who wish to give to others in this economical time of need.
