UCF students Alex and Sierra Crowned 2013 USA X-Factors Winners!!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

Classes are back in session and winter break is officially over. Still, before we get too buried in our books let’s just all take a moment acknowledge UCF Knights Alex and Sierra for winning the X-Factor 2013.

Yep that’s right on December 19th 2013, X-factor Contestants Alex and Sierra took home the winning title, in addition to a $1 million recording contract.

From their very first audition, a sultry rendition of Britney spears “Toxic” to their final performances of “Love me Again” and “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” there is no doubt that their voices are exceedingly captivating. The couple was the only group amongst other X-Factor contestants this season to hit No. 1 on the iTunes Top 100 chart. Both Alex and Sierra expressed their gratitude via their Facebook page.

“There are just no words to describe how we feel. We are so floored and honored to have been a part of this show.  We couldn’t even get online after the show because we cried the entire night, all night… thank you to EVERY single person who supported us, voted for us, bought our songs, tweeted us, and everything in between!… thank you as well to Simon Cowell for believing in us and becoming more than a mentor and someone we consider a genuine friend…we are so excited to begin our journey together making our own music and are beyond grateful for this experience. We love you all. ~A&S”

Both Alex and Sierra are currently in L.A. recording music for their debut album. You can keep up with the couple by following them on Twitter @AlexandSierra3 or liking their Facebook page “Alex and Sierra”. You can also stop by  iTunes and download a few of their must-have covers such as Sara Bareilles “Gravity,”  A Great Big World’s “Say Something” and Ed Sheeran’s “Give me Love.”

Needless to say it’s always good to be a Knight and congratulations to the deserving pair!!!
