Each fall the UCF community comes together for homecoming week to have some fun and help out some really great charity causes. Homecoming week is a great way to get involved on campus and embrace your UCF spirit! Here is a little run down on the upcoming homecoming events for the 2012 fall semester:

October 27: Service Day and Concert Knight
During the day, head out to Memory Mall from 11am to 1pm for a kid’s carnival day benefiting local Boys and Girls Clubs. Campus organizations set up booths and games for the children to walk around and enjoy.

After service day, walk on over to the UCF arena for the biggest concert of the year at 8 p.m. This year, Concert Knight will feature Snoop Dog! Other concert guests should be released within the next few weeks. Tickets are FREE, so be sure to pick yours up in the Office of Student Involvement.

October 29: Movie Knight
The big screen will feature “The Dark Knight Rises” at 8 p.m. in the UCF Arena. Bring some candy and go enjoy a movie with your classmates!

October 30: Comedy Knight
Comedy Knight is a UCF student favorite. Comedians Jim Gaffigan and James Davis will be gracing us with their presence at 8 p.m. in the UCF Arena. Don’t forget to pick up your free ticket in the Office of Student Involvement. They’re sure to go fast.

October 31: Skit Knight
Student organizations develop an eight-minute skit to show off their singing, dancing, and acting skills and prove they have the most school spirit. This night offers many opportunities for earning extra points and awards for your team! The team that collects the most change for the Children’s Miracle Network will be named “Fan Favorite,” so don’t show up empty handed!

November 1: Penny Wars
Gather up all your spare change and make your way over to the Student Union for Penny Wars from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. All money raised from Penny Wars will be given directly to the Children’s Miracle Network.

November 2: Spirit Splash

Spirit Splash is one of UCF’s oldest and most prized traditions. Head on over to the Reflection Pond at 1 p.m. for the biggest pep rally of the season. Make sure to wear a bathing suit. You don’t want to miss out on the only day when jumping into the Reflection Pond won’t get you in trouble with Student Conduct!

November 3: Homecoming Game
Homecoming week wraps up with the homecoming football game versus the SMU Mustangs at 8 p.m. Come cheer on your Knights and find out who is crowned Homecoming King and Queen. It’s sure to be a game to remember!
