November is finally here! It’s the month that I like to consider to be the start of sweater weather season. Although Florida doesn’t know what cold weather is, we can still enjoy warm blankets and the smell of pumpkin spice lattes. To better embrace the fall vibes of November, I decided to create a playlist of soft chill songs from my favorite artists (including some new artists) that are perfect for this season.

“Pretty Boy” by The Neighbourhood

With their latest album, Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones, The Neighborhood has managed to release another perfect song for the fall season. The rest of the album comes with nice, chill songs that are a great representation of this warm and cozy season.

“Going Home” by The Aces

This song is perfect for returning home for the holidays. The soft chill vibes it gives off makes you feel like the main character returning to your small town after living in a major city.

“Scottie Pippen” by Bren Joy

I recently discovered Bren Joy, and I haven’t stopped listening to his album Twenties, where this amazing song is from. If you love R&B and jazz, then I highly recommend checking out the rest of the album, which only has eight tracks but is definitely worth a listen.

“Flexible” by Kendra Dias

Another artist I recently discovered is Kendra Dias, an artist who perfectly captures the chill vibes of fall with this catchy tune.

“Stone” by Raveena

There are no words to describe how much I love this song. Raveena is a lyrical genius who puts so much emotion into her music that shows just how meaningful it is to her.

“Heaven” by Clairo

The soundtrack “Heaven” comes from the 2018 indie film Skate Kitchen by Crystal Moselle, which I recommend watching right after listening to this amazing song by one of my favorite artists.

“Reflections” by The Neighborhood

Had to add another track by one of my favorite bands.

“Want U Around (feat. Ruel)” by Omar Apollo

This track comes from Omar Apollo’s latest album, Apolonio. Ruel’s captivating voice and Omar’s intimate lyrics create a sad love song that makes you want to just cuddle in bed with warm blankets.

“Eyes” by Ambar Lucid

Ambar’s soft, delicate voice makes you feel like you’re lost in a trance. As a bilingual artist, she sings in Spanish and English in most of her songs, such as this wonderful track.

“Borderline” by Baby Rose

Last but certainly not least is Baby Rose, an artist I recently discovered that is slowly becoming one of my favorite R&B artists. With her deep and raspy voice, Baby Rose perfectly embodies the warmth of fall with the song “Borderline” (along with her other songs, which you can check out in her album, To Myself.)

These songs are not only good for fall, but they’re also perfect for when you just need to sit down and relax with everything thats going on in the world. Sometimes all we need is some nice, chill music to escape reality.

Valerie is a sophomore at the University of Central Florida majoring in Journalism with a minor in Film. She enjoys reading/writing poetry, playing the ukulele, and hanging out with her friends. When she isn’t writing or doing classwork, she’s either listening to some good jams or rambling about a new film that just came out.
