One of the most anticipated tours of this decade is kicking off so soon. Back in November 2022, global superstar Taylor Swift announced she would be going on tour again for the first time in five years. Because of her countless hit songs, and in honor of her re-recordings, she called this tour, “The Eras Tour.” Here’s what we know so far about this exciting announcement.

Fans had been speculating for months that the star would be announcing a tour, so when it was finally revealed, the world went crazy. This led to an unprecedented situation with ticket sales. Knowing the demand would be crazy, Swift used Ticketmaster for the sale of her tickets and used a system known as “Verified Fan Presale.” This allowed fans to sign up for the presale in hopes of getting a code that would give them early access to tickets. This caused fans everywhere to panic. Everyone everywhere wanted a code. So finally when the presale began, lucky fans got their opportunity to get tickets. This ended up being an absolute disaster. Tickets were disappearing, ticket prices were randomly going up, and it ultimately ended with tons of fans being disappointed.

However, Swift was obviously upset about this so she decided to find a way to give fans a second chance at getting tickets. Fans were able to request two tickets to specific shows and many people were able to get amazing seats given this opportunity. Though many people are still without tickets, the vast majority have now been able to snag their tickets to see the superstar in her highly anticipated show.

With the ticketing issue out of the way, here’s what we know about the actual shows.

Swift kicks off her tour in Glendale, Arizona on March 17 at State Farm Stadium. She’ll be visiting 15 cities, ending at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. She has multiple dates in each city giving fans several chances to see her.

Another major thing about this tour is the star-studded line-up of openers. The first two shows have critically acclaimed group Paramore and up-and-coming artist GAYLE as their opening artists. When Paramore leaves, GAYLE continues for a bit more with beabadoobee. Once GAYLE’s run ends, bedroom pop artist Gracie Abrams joins the tour. After beabadoobee and Gracie Abrams exit, Grammy-nominated artist Phoebe Bridgers gets her turn and GAYLE returns. Then indie artist girl in red and the artist named OWENN, who used to be a backup dancer for Swift, will take the stage. Lastly, the group HAIM, long-time friends of Taylor, will end the tour as Taylor’s final openers.

Now onto the setlist! We already have a few confirmed songs that Taylor will be singing. Earlier this year, Taylor confirmed via a fan’s TikTok comment section that she will be performing her track 5 song from Reputation titled, “Delicate.” Other than that, fans have heard her sound-checking several songs outside of the State Farm Stadium recently. The songs included the hit 2014 song “Shake It Off,” arguably one of her most famous songs “You Belong With Me,” and even her most recent lead single “Anti-Hero.” It could be assumed that she will sing a few more of her hits and hopefully a few album deep cuts.

Personally, I have tickets to her show on April 15 in Tampa. I have looked forward to this day since I saw her back in 2018 on her Reputation Stadium Tour. I went through “The Great War” to get tickets and have been counting down the days since. Are you going to be in attendance for any dates of “The Eras Tour?”
