It’s officially spring now that Other Peoples Property is having their ‘Springtime Swap & Shop’!
How the swap works
Bring your gently used, back-of-the-closet clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc. to CREDO Coffeehouse (706 W. Smith St. Orlando FL, 32804) before March 15 in a bag sorted into categories with your name on it. If you drop off your clothes before March 15, you only pay $7 at the door, and if you drop off your clothes on March 15 before registration at 6 p.m. prior to the swap it will be $12. For the sake of a smooth running event try to bring your clothes as early in the week as possible! The actual swap will be held in the Ivanhoe Shopping District at 1300 Brookhaven Drive Orlando FL, 32803.
The clothes you drop off will be laid out in an area and each paying participant will receive a free glass of wine provided by TheNakedGrapeWine.com — YUM! You also receive a reusable tote bag from YELP.com with some awesome goodies inside…SCORE! At 7 p.m. the hunt begins. Anything and everything goes! If you see anything you like, just put in your tote bag. Clothing is based on what each participant brings, so don’t hold back! The swap is not limited to just girls. Gentlemen are encouraged to participate, the more the merrier! Also available at the swap are clothes for mothers and their fast growing kids!
Any leftovers from the swap will be donated to Dress For Success, a non-profit that helps women prepare for interviews by providing them with tips and interview appropriate clothes. Check them out at www.dressforsuccess.org. The rest of the clothes will be donated to The BETA center for teenage moms (betacenter.org) and local homeless ministries.
Now for the shopping!
Other Peoples Property (OPP) is a local vintage shop with some of the best vintage clothing, jewelry, bags, shoes…you name it, they will have it!
