My Top 10 Must-Reads for Female Entreprenuers

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

Whether you’re looking to start a business or simply love reading inspirational books that make you feel like a #BossBabe, this article highlights the top 10 business and personal development books guaranteed to keep you ambitious, inspired, and confident!

“#GirlBoss” by Sophia Amoruso

I picked up #GirlBoss for the first time when I was around 13, and I think it’d be safe to say that this book was the reason I started on my entrepreneurship journey. (Bonus points if you also watch the Netflix rendition of Sophia’s story!)

“Girl Code” by Cara Alwill Leyba

“This book won’t teach you how to build a multimillion-dollar company. It won’t teach you about systems or finance. But it will teach you how to build confidence in yourself, reconnect with your ‘why’ eradicate jealousy, and ultimately learn the power of connection” author Cara Alwill Leyba said.

“She Means Business” by Carrie Green

This is by far one of my favorite books on the list and is one I want to read over and over again—I couldn’t put it down! Not only does Carrie Green empower and inspire women with her real-life stories and unparalleled vision, she also includes in the book tasks and challenges you can do at home to better manage your time, dreams and doubts.

“Daring and Disruptive” by Lisa Messenger

This is the ultimate playbook to plan out your huge idea. Scribble on it, make lists, rip out the pages—anything to get your creativity flowing!

“Capture Your Style” by Aimee Song

Every great entrepreneur knows that one essential piece of building your brand is to do so through social media. Luckily in Capture Your Style, Song outlines how to grow your brand, expand audience exposure, take great pictures and highlights all of the key strategies to edit your photos.

“Leave Your Mark” by Aliza Licht

Ever considered changing your major to follow your dreams but doubted yourself because you didn’t think you’d be able to make a stable living with it? In this book, she recounts the messy process of giving up medical school—what she’s prepared for all her life—to follow her passion in fashion and editorial.

“The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck” by Mark Manson

Sometimes when you’re stuck in a rut, motivational happy-go-lucky quotes and sweet encouragements won’t always work. What you need is a no bullsh*t kick in the behind to get you back on track, and that’s exactly what Manson delivers!

“You Are A Badass” by Jen Sincero

“Be your best, do your best, demand the best, receive the best and put the best out into the world so everyone can receive your best, too,” author Jen Sincero writes.

“Nice Girls Don’t Get The Corner Office” by Lois P. Frankel

It’s no secret that we as women are still faced with great adversity in the corporate world; however, there are many common mistakes that women are making that are jeopardizing their success in their careers. Frankel highlights countless ways we are hindering our way to the top and describes strategies to help overcome them.

“Girl, Wash Your Face” by Rachel Hollis

“You can live through something that rocks your world off its axis. You can survive losing a piece of your heart without losing the core of who you are. More than merely surviving the loss, you can thrive. You can do it because it’s what you deserve. More importantly, you can survive the loss because living is the greatest honor you can give the person you lost…even if the person who’s gone was your younger more innocent self,” writes author Rachel Hollis.

After reading any of these I can personally guarantee you’ll be feeling like you can conquer your fears, your business and the world! After all, once you become fearless, your life becomes limitless.
