Music Building Chronicles: Shannon Lopez

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

This week in the music building, my weekly meeting lasted a little longer than normal. Because of this, I encountered music students studying for tests, moving instruments around, and lounging along the walls, simply talking and creating memories together. Sometimes, it can be nice to a break from the busy schedule, and catch up with some friends. I ran into a particularly interesting group of friends, who seemed to be having a de-stressor from everyday college life. I decided to ask a very prestigious collegiate, and dear friend of mine, Shannon Lopez, what she could possibly be doing on a late Wednesday night.

Encounter: Shannon Lopez

1. Tell me about yourself!

My name is Shannon Lopez and I’m in my junior year at UCF as a hospitality management major. I play the Clarinet.

2. What brings you to the Music Building Today?

I’m currently a sister of Tau Beta Sigma, and serving as their Vice President of Membership, so I frequent the music building to go to Chapter meetings and Membership Candidate meetings.

3. Do you consider yourself a lover of music? If so, why do you love music?

I would consider myself a lover of music. Being involved in music has definitely made me the person I am today since I’ve meet most of my friends through music programs, such as High School band and University Ensembles.

4. Is there anything you’re preparing for in the next few weeks?

Nope!

5. What is your favorite thing about the Music Building at night?

The Music Building kind of reminds me of a Haunted House at night. Honestly, I’m not sure why, but there are just a lot of corners to hide around. Additionally, there’s lots of weird noises coming from everywhere that makes hanging out in there fun.
