While it may feel like the first day of spring term was just yesterday, Spring break is surprisingly only a couple of weeks away! With Spring break at the forefront of my mind, I’m already planning ways I can fill my school-free days while being local. Being a devoted music lover, I’ve decided that a week-long vacation is a perfect time to discover new artists hosting concerts nearby. While scrolling through Bandsintown, I was able to find a handful of artists and bands who will have upcoming tour dates in Florida. With that being said, here are three artists worth checking out this spring break!

LOSTBOYCROW

For lovers of indie music and smaller intimate venues, LOSTBOYCROW’s Orlando tour stop at Henao Contemporary Center is definitely an ideal night out! Chris Dank, known on the stage as LOSTBOYCROW, is a Los Angeles singer-songwriter who released an album last December called, Indie Pop. However, he’s been at it for a while. I first discovered him in 2017, with his hit single, ”Devil’s In The Backseat”. The song even appeared on my top songs of 2017 on the audio streaming platform, Spotify. LOSTBOYCROW will also be bringing along supporting acts Brooke Alexx and Kid Cadaver. If you’re in the mood for fresh new music, you should definitely consider buying a ticket for the Indie Pop Tour!

Ella & the Bossa Beat

In the mood for some jazz and pop? Ella & The Bossa Beat is a unique duo consisting of a father and daughter that offers a combination of jazz, pop, and Brazilian-styled music. Ella is a multi-talented musician that presents a soulful and compelling voice while her father is a dynamic drummer, percussionist, composer, and producer. Their first album called, “My Remedy” was released in 2020 and their second album titled “In the Moment” in November 2022. It’s for sure a distinctive genre I’d love to experience and dive into before classes start again. The duo will be performing at Universal Orlando’s Loews Portofino Bay Hotel on March 17.

24kGoldn

Another artist making a tour stop in Orlando is Golden Landis Von Jones, known in the music world as 24kGoldn. 24kGoldn is no stranger to making hits and appearing on the charts, so you may know him for his popular single called “Mood” featuring Iann Dior or his song “VALENTINO” from his album DROPPED OUTTA COLLEGE. He will be touring alongside several artists, including Klondike Blonde, and Symba, for Nick Cannon’s Next Superstar Tour. This tour is in partnership with Black Music Action Coalition, an organization that advocates for Black individuals in the music industry. Not only does the tour offer performances from a variety of artists, including 24kGoldn, but, it also includes three stages of talent discovery that you can learn more about here. It’s certainly a unique concert experience where you can discover up-and-coming Black artists from around the world. This experience will be at the House of Blues on March 11.

With so much free time on my hands during the break, I’m excited to discover new music and attend concerts of different genres around the Orlando area. I highly recommend checking out Bandsintown, the perfect resource to discover new artists and nearby concerts. I will for sure be using it for my music needs for this summer’s vacation as well!
