Greeks and More: Bringing MORE to Greek Life than Anyone Else

To the thousands of Greek students at UCF, Ellen and Donna have been household names since rush week. These two fantastic ladies manage the famous store ‘Greeks and More,’ conveniently situated across the street from the university campus on Alafaya Trail. Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to talk with Ellen and Donna, and learn more about all of their promotional offers and what they’re doing to make Greek Life good-looking and affordable. Everything is custom made, the options are almost limitless, and the staff is so friendly, you’ll feel like family.
   
The first thing I had the chance to learn about was a new idea that Ellen “has in the works,” as she liked to put it. Sorority girls at UCF, get excited, because Ellen and Donna have started Gift Basket Parties, exclusively at Greeks and More. The gift baskets can be anything from decorated paint cans (provided at the store), to wicker baskets (not supplied at the store), or even Ellen’s custom made tote bags. The items that go into the gift baskets can range anywhere from pins and key chains, to monogram towels and headbands. These parties are perfect for events such as Big & Little Appreciation Week, New Member Parties, or even holiday parties. And any girls expecting little’s this fall should start planning now and come see what’s available from Ellen’s made-to-order boutique. The process of these parties is very simply; basically, your sorority’s Recruitment Director or Event Chair would come into the store to make an appointment with Ellen to see which products the chapter would like most. After ordering the items in bulk, Ellen will give the sorority a weeklong time frame to come into the store. The girls would then come in groups of 10 to 20 and shop. Ellen even made an example gift basket, which included the following: A monogram towel ($12), a coozy ($10, or $12 with designer Vera Bradley border), a croaky ($8), a sorority letter pin ($2.50), and a headband ($12). An entire gift basket for your big or little can be as inexpensive as $45. And as Ellen always says, “Volume dictates price.”  When girls come in larger groups, Ellen and Donna would be more than happy to donate 5-10% of everything spent on the gift basket party to your own philanthropy.

                
                              
                               
Donna has even offered to come to your sorority house personally and inform your chapter about the gift basket parties. During my visit to the store, she stated, “I’d be more than happy to visit their house, present them with options to custom create whatever they want, and offer them anything to help offset the cost.”

As far as paddles and plaques, Ellen and Donna can make the paddle of your dreams into a reality. All little’s looking for a reasonably priced paddle or plaque with unbeatable quality should look no further than Greeks and More. The price is $2 per inch, and this price includes shipping and handling! Not only are these the best prices in town, but the options are almost limitless. The picture shown below is an example of a personal paddle that is 18 inches in length and cost the owner only $38.34 to have it cut and sent to the store.

Ellen and Donna also recognize that times are changing, which means that fashion is changing even faster. The two innovative ladies are always looking for fresh and new ideas from the sorority girls themselves. They are open to all suggestions and want YOU to let them know what you would like to see in the store. Coming soon to Greeks and More, Ellen is getting all new croakies! On one side will be your respected letters, and on the other side, you’ll have the option to have your initials embroidered. This could be the perfect gift for your big, your little, or even your boyfriend. And that’s not all; Ellen has even reinvented the gift ideas for the graduating senior in your life. Senior girls, save your t-shirts from all of your events, philanthropies, and socials, because Ellen will turn all of your collected shirts into a keepsake quilt to take with you after graduation. If you supply Ellen with 25-30 shirts, a larger than twin sized quilt will cost you $200. You’ll have 10 colors to choose from for the underside of the quilt, and she even has the option for a full and queen sized quilt. Where else in town can you have 4 years of memories turned into the perfect gift?
