Remember that Honda commercial years ago? With that really great song about walking on a dream? A while back? That was Empire of the Sun’s song, “Walking on a Dream,” and believe it or not, it is 8 years old, and was the most Shazamed commercial over the year! Well, what have Empire of the Sun been up to since then? Actually, their new album, “Two Vines,” dropped this past Friday. Empire of the Sun is officially back and better than ever.
“High and Low” off “Two Vines” has got to be one of the best songs I’ve heard in a while! The energy of the song can instantly put you in a good mood and I’ve been listening to it on repeat to get my through these past few grueling nights of studying. About two weeks ago, I actually had the please of going on a business trip to Los Angeles with my amazing job as a College Lifestyle & Marketing Representative for Universal Music Group, where I was introduced and informed about so many amazing artists, executives, and more under UMG’s extensive umbrella. During my visit to Capitol Records I was informed about Empire of the Sun’s track, “High and Low,” and have been obsessed since then. UMG’s Portland rep, John, actually filmed a little video of our trip, where he features “High and Low,” which you can watch here if you’d like to see what it’s like to be a college rep for UMG!
