If you’re a student at UCF and you like the occasional nightlife, then you’ll find that Orlando is the perfect spot to be. We have Tuesday Takeover, Riot Wednesday, and on the weekends there is a whole downtown life waiting for us. Well, my fellow clubbers, you can add something else to your little black book of clubs. Starting February 2nd, every Thursday at Firestone Live in downtown Orlando, they will be hosting an event known as Ignition. And if you’ve seen those students around campus sporting the black t-shirt with orange lettering sprawled with Ignition, you’ll find that they are promoters who have a love of nightlife and want to get as many people to come out for the event. I talked with promoter, senior Hasan Bin Awal, and he gave me all the details on what to expect from the upcoming new hot spot.

The idea first came to life when a group known as electronic dance music, or EDMOrlando, made it their mission to unite all the electronic music lovers of Orlando under one banner. The group worked with the owners of Club Firestone Live at downtown into renovating the whole club with state of the art sound systems, LED panels, Laser canons, 3D laser mapping system, and more. The club is perfect for those students who have a love of electronic music and just want to go out and have a good time. Ignition will be the kickoff night for this movement, and it will continue every Thursday after that. In other words, Orlando will have their very own weekly music festival.

As for the opening night, you can expect a night that will not long be forgotten–scratch that–many of you will probably forget the night.  There will be top DJ’s spinning at four different stages throughout the club, and there will also be laser shows and even fire dancers. As for pricing, it will be $5 for those 21 and up and $10 for 18 and up. And all you electronic music lovers will not be disappointed. There will be everything from house, dubstep, electro, progressive, hardstyle, and moombahton.

So if you’re a person who loves to go out and have a good time or just want to try someplace new, then Ignition is definitely the place to be. You can contact any of the promoters and get on the VIP list, which will give you access to the VIP lounges and party buses will be going for $15, including cover. So find something cute to wear, line up a DD, and prepare for an amazing night. I hope to see you there, along with the other 636 people attending!
