With Halloween right around the corner, it seems the pressure is on to have your costume ready for the night. However, if you’re anything like me then you waited until the last minute and have absolutely no clue what to be. Fear not! I have compiled some last minute and budget friendly Halloween costumes that are going to help alleviate some of your stress.

1. A Witch

Even though this costume may seem pretty basic, there are plenty of ways to make it original whether that be through makeup, the outfit itself, or even the hat. The best things about this costume is how much you can personalize it, and the fact that you probably have most of the pieces already in your closet. Plus, you can customize it to be extra cute or extra scary. All you need is a witch hat (which you can find anywhere and they are usually under $5), a black dress, and any other accessories you want to add for that witchy vibe!

2. A Scarecrow

This costume may require a little more than the witch, but it’s still super easy and super cute! All you need is a plaid shirt, overalls/jeans, a straw hat, and some face paint, and voilà you are a cute scarecrow for the night! You can find the hat at most clothing stores, but I’ve even seen the costume without the hat and it still looks good. For the makeup look, add a triangle on your nose, and stitching lines around on the sides of your mouth. If you’re unsure how to perfect the makeup look, there are a plethora of easy DIY videos on YouTube! This costume is also one you could make really cute or really scary.

3. A Flower Child/Hippy

If you want to dress as a blast from the past, then this is the perfect costume for you! The best thing about this costume is you can customize it in so many different ways that really you can’t go wrong. Also, a lot of the pieces you probably already have such as a tie dyed or flowy shirt, flare pant jeans, and a headband. All you need is a peace sign necklace and some round glasses and you are good to go! I love this one because its super simple but it’s also so fun.

4. Broken/Shattered Doll

This one is may require some makeup skills but otherwise it’s a pretty easy look! All you need for the costume is girly or doll like dress, a bow for your hair, and some cute shoes. Also, you can add some accessories to add to the look like a teddy bear, cute socks, or a pearl necklace. This look is a lot of fun if you love makeup or just dressing up in general. For the makeup look, head over to YouTube for some tutorials if you want to know how to get the cracked effect using black face paint. For the rest of the makeup, all you need to do is add a lighter foundation color, blush, false lashes, and some pink lipstick and you’re good to go! This costume is one of my favorites on the list and is probably the one I have gotten the most compliments on. If you aren’t afraid of a challenge, this look is for you!

5. This is My Costume Shirt

If you aren’t in the mood to dress up but you still want to be festive, then try this look. This is so simple and you can even make it yourself! To make it yourself, all you need is a plain t-shirt and iron on letters and there you have it! Though this look may be super simple, it’s definitely nice to just be able to throw on a t-shirt and have a costume all done. So, if you’re looking for something witty, budget friendly, and easy, this is probably the look for you.

There you have it! Five easy and budget friendly costumes for anyone looking for some last minute ideas. Happy Halloween!
