A lot can happen from the time we put on our makeup in the morning until we come home from a long day of school, work, and whatever else we college students do. It’s a lot to ask of our makeup to stay flawless throughout the day. As Floridians, we have to deal with unexpected rain, humidity, and all other instances of makeup killers. So doesn’t it make sense that every girl keeps a beauty survival kit in her purse for those cosmetic emergencies? Well, I certainly think so. I’ve compiled a few essentials that you should always keep in hand for when you find yourself in a beauty emergency.
1. The Cosmetic Bag
It doesn’t have to be the world’s most extravagant bag, but a simple case to hold all your essentials. Don’t be one of those girls who just throws her makeup into her purse and later find that the interior of the bag looks like a child drew all inside of it. My personal favorite go-to bag is one of Mac’s cosmetics bags because they are the perfect size – and they don’t look too bad either!
2. Hair Essentials
This depends on you and your hair type. If you find you hair getting frizzy through the day, pack a travel size bottle of serum. Or if you have knotty hair, keep a small hairbrush handy. And always keep some extra bobby pins and hair ties – two things that almost every girl couldn’t live without.
3. Make-up
Try and only pack the cosmetics that you know will need touch-ups on throughout the day. Stick to the basics. Carry some chapstick for dry lips, a small compact of foundation, mascara, and maybe your favorite eyeliner. This bag is only supposed to help you with small beauty flaws, not to reapply your entire makeup.
4. Miscellaneous
Your beauty survival kit is almost complete! Now all you need to pack is a few extra things that you feel you might need for the day. This might be a nail clipper or a nail file for when you realize you could use some trimming before class or fashion tape if you’re wearing a loose shirt. Just remember your kit should be catered to you. So think about your day and what you always wish you had on you, and voila! Your beauty survival kit will begin to take shape.
