Alex Bissell, you’ve probably heard the name before. He’s done it all at UCF! Everything from Greek life to O-Team to Homecoming Executive board to President Leadership Council he has packed in a diverse range of involvement with his time at UCF.

Year? Major? Minor?

I’m a senior getting a degree in Advertising/ Public Relations with a minor in Political Science.

Where are you from?

Oxford, England (and yes, he has a British accent)

What involvement are you most proud of doing?

Oh dear, that’s a tough one! I’d say homecoming because I got to tap into my creative side making videos and doing posters while spending months to bring students together for the most important week of the year: Homecoming. Also, PLC because I get to work with an amazing group of student leaders and represent the university to visitors and work graduations too! Also, O-Team because I got to cross paths with people I never thought I would and help freshman be comfortable. Also, when I finished the Disney marathon in January.

What do you do with your free time?

In my free time, I like to work out, run, and spend time with friends and family.

Describe yourself in three words.

Motivated, creative, and British…for obvious reasons.

What are your plans after graduation?

I would like to work for an advertising agency.

What advice would you give to underclassmen?

Find your niche- whether it’s through clubs, sports, or student government. Surrounding yourself with a positive group of people that will challenge you but also make you appreciate what UCF has to offer.

Second, don’t be afraid to fail. There’s so much pressure for college students to succeed and be the best. Competition is good, but don’t let it intimidate you. If you want something badly you’ll work hard enough for it.

Third, challenge yourself to do something off the bucket list while you’re in college.
