After the Party is the After-Party: The Top Looks

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

The only part of the Met Ball that we, as normal citizens, get to witness is the red carpet and a few sneaky selfies from the inside. Contrary to popular belief, the Met Gala is not just the red carpet – it actually does have an event inside! Guests are allowed to view the pieces shown in the Met’s costume institute, as well as wine and dine with other party-goers.

After the main event, there are after-parties hosted by prestigious designers. This year’s hosts were none other than Versace, Balmain, and Rihanna. No longer needing the elaborate and complex gowns, celebrities usually slip into more comfortable attire. Here are the top looks:

Ashley Graham

Graham slipped into a black sleek mini dress that showed off her amazing figure. The model stuck to the theme by wearing a cross choker.

Yara Shahidi

Slaying the Chanel ensemble, the actress opted for chic sneakers and a t-shirt-style sequined dress, perfect for party hopping.

Lily Collins

Keeping up with her gothic theme, Lily simply switched out the bottom of her ensemble and went on to dance the night away.

Kim Kardashian

Continuing with her partnership with Versace, Kim sported a mini dress with stunning cage detailing.

Bella Hadid

Going with a ‘grungy’ look, Hadid wore a black leather high neck crop top with silver detailing and matching black leather pants.

PriyankaChopra

It seems that black leather was a common theme at these events, as Priyanka Chopra also selected a black leather ensemble. However, her outfit also featured some gold details in the trousers to match with her ‘heavenly bodies’ gold jewelry.

Blake Lively

Succeeding in snatching our lives throughout the entire night, Blake Lively donned a gorgeous blue, black and red plaid outfit. She even added voluminous hair by letting her updo from earlier down, revealing her to-die-for blonde curls.

Kendall Jenner

The model also wowed the fashion game on both the red carpet and after-party scene. She wore a sky blue mini dress with Catholic artwork all over and paired it with simple strappy silver sandals.

Emma Stone

Although the actress stuck with the same dress, she slightly transformed her hair, by letting it down rather than the side ponytail it was in prior, making a gorgeous difference to the ensemble.
