7 Places to Treat Yourself After School

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

You have made it through the day, and maybe you are celebrating that you got a 100% percent on your test, or you are celebrating that at least you got a 35%, either way it is time to treat yo self. Here are some places around Orlando where you can grab that sweet treat for you and maybe some friends.

1. La Isla del Frappe

La Isla del Frappe is a food truck located on East Colonial that sells over 40 different kind of frappes! It is so hard to pick just one but if you have a favorite sugary treat you are bound to find it made into a frappe here. They also sell Latin food if you are looking for something to go along with your delicious frappe.

2. Ice & Bites Cafe

Ice & Bites cafe is so close to UCF, and they have all different kinds of ice cream and boba drinks, but my personal favorite is the affogato. It is ice cream with a cloud on top(cotton candy) and you pour espresso on it and you watch your cloud disintegrate. I like to eat as much of the cloud as I can before it disintegrates.  It is so delicious and Ice & Bites has lots of games to play if you come by with friends.

3. Duck Donuts

This donut place is unlike no other in Orlando, because you are the creator of your own donut. The donuts are custom made, you get to select the frosting, topping, and drizzle and they have so many options the possibilities are endless. It is quite a drive from campus, but it is well worth the drive, and they are personally the best donuts in Orlando to me.

4. The Soda Fountain

The best ice cream in town comes from The Soda Fountain. It is to die for, and they have lots of cute walls around if you are looking for some nice wall pictures. I get the strawberry basil sorbet always and although that sounds strange it is so good and refreshing. They also make milkshakes, and floats and it is located in College Park so it is a really nice place to walk around with your ice cream.

5. Valkyrie Doughnuts

I know I said Duck Donuts had the best donuts in Orlando, but Valkyrie was originally my number one, and I still love them. They have vegan donuts which does not make them healthier but they certainly are so delicious. What I like about them too is that everyday they are selling different flavors, and they are close to campus.

6. Aloha Isle

I do not have an annual pass Disney but I am always dreaming of Dole whip. So the solution? Head to Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Parking is free, and they sell Dole whip at Aloha Isle in the resort. You can also take the monorail to different resorts and take a shuttle to explore Disney Springs too.

7. Blue Bird Bake Shop

Probably hands down the cutest place in Orlando is Blue Bird Bake Shop. They have the best aesthetics, the walls and chairs are so cute. Their cupcakes though are the absolute best! I am willing to drive all the way over there for their cupcakes, I can’t even compare them to any other places cupcakes, and they are always coming out with different flavors. They also have great coffee to pair with your cupcake and its also close to other places that you must explore in Winter Park.

You have been working hard in school,at work, or on your diet, but you deserve a good sweet after working so hard. So don’t forget to treat yo self.
