5 Hangout Fest Artists You’re Sleeping On

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

If you’re a fan of the beach and music—or both—then Hangout Music Festival is the perfect place for you this upcoming season. A beautiful ocean view, activities on activities and endless photo-ops make it a weekend you won’t forget. But what’s a festival without music? Luckily, this year’s Hangout Fest has a dream lineup with something for everyone. From The 1975 and Khalid to Travis Scott and Diplo, this is a music event you don’t want to miss. Though the lineup features some big names, there’s a plethora of others that you may not know about. Here’s a list of 5 artists and bands that deserve your attention:

1. Lovelytheband

If you’ve never heard of lovelytheband, then get ready, because they are about to take the alternative music scene by storm. With unforgettable melodies and fun beats that will get you dancing, they’re an act you can’t miss. Not only is their music good, but the band also advocates for mental health awareness! Some of their hits even feature lyrics on the subject. Check out the songs “Broken,” “Make You Feel Pretty” and “Stupid Mistakes.”

For fans of: Walk the Moon, Weezer and The 1975

2. Bishop Briggs

Soon Bishop Briggs will be your new favorite female pop powerhouse. With a strong voice full of soul and songs that weave through different genres, you’ll be anything but bored. Her songs all tell a story in a beautiful yet weird way. Check out the songs “Dark Side,” “Dream” and “River.”

For fans of: Bebe Rexha, Billie Eilish and Bea Miller

3. King Princess

If you’re looking for a new singer-songwriter to obsess over, then look no further than King Princess. Her songs are guaranteed to get stuck in your head. One thing to note about King Princess is her ties to the LGBTQ community. Many of her songs are greatly influenced by her sexuality, but whether or not you identify as a member of the community, you’re sure to enjoy her retro-meets-soft pop vibe. Check out the songs “Talia,” “Holy” and “1950.”

For fans of: Khalid, HAIM and Haley Kiyoko

4. Lauren Daigle

While Christian music may not be everyone’s cup of tea, the mesmerizing quality of Lauren Daigle’s voice will have you hooked. If you’ve been missing Adele’s powerful piano ballads, then Daigle is an artist to watch. Check out the songs “Rescue,” “This Girl” and “Still Rolling Stones.”

For fans of: Adele, Sam Smith and Alicia Keys

5. Bazzi

If indie or singer-songwriter pop isn’t your thing, then Bazzi should be a breath of fresh air. With more of a hip-hop inspired style, this up and coming singer is one to keep an eye on. He’s already produced a few hits that have become radio anthems. His music will want to make you scream the lyrics with your friends as you’re cruising down the highway—or even better, on the beach at Hangout Fest. Check out the songs “Mine,” “3:15” and “Sober.”

For fans of: Jon Bellion, The Weeknd and Post Malone

As you can see, there are plenty of amazing artists at Hangout Fest that aren’t necessarily headliners, but may just end up being the acts you go to see. For the full lineup of artists head over to the official website. And be sure to come hang out with Her Campus UCF on March 5 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. We’re teaming up with Hangout Music Fest to bring a little spring break right to our campus, featuring music trivia, beach games, festival makeovers, and of course plenty of beachy photo ops! We can’t wait to see you there!
