Having thick hair that naturally resembles a bird’s nest can easily become tricky. As someone who has hair that is sometimes textured, sometimes wavy and sometimes coarse, the world of hair products can be extremely complicated. Of course, it’s not easy to get your hair from Mia Thermopolis to Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo. But with the right products, it’s possible. Lucky for you, after many years of experimenting, I have finally found the five products for thick hair that I swear by.

Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Leave-in Conditioner and Anti-Frizz Serum

Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Leave-in conditioner is a true life saver. Living in Florida’s humidity, this product saves my hair from turning into a giant ball of poof as soon as I step outside. Garnier even states that this “system provides frizz control even in 97% humidity,” and I must say, I stand by that statement. I find this product works best when coupled with the Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Anti-Frizz serum. Both products help to secure the texture of your hair and fight against frizz to encourage smoothness.

Pro-tip: Do not use too much of this product at once or it can leave your hair feeling greasy.

Revlon One-Step Volumizer Hair Dryer

When I discovered the Revlon One-Step Volumizer Hair Dryer and its amazing reviews, I was very excited to try it out. And trust me, I was not disappointed. This hair dryer is what I like to call magical. It gives me salon blow-out results in about 15 minutes if my hair is wet, and in only five minutes if my hair is dry. It leaves my usually rough hair feeling smooth and voluminous. This tool was a life-saver for my busy schedule because it shortened my hair routine from two hours to only 30 minutes.

Pro-tip: If your hair is naturally more on the straight side, using this product on the lower heat setting allows for more volume.

T3 Single Pass Hair Straightener

I have very recently acquired the T3 Single Pass Hair Straightener, and it is the only styling iron that has ever been able to properly straighten my hair while also leaving it smooth and silky. Also, to my surprise, it has kept my hair decently straight in 97% humidity. Not only is it great at straightening, but it can also curl exceptionally well. It takes a shorter amount of time in relation to other flat irons because its temperature of 410F allows each strand of hair to straighten or curl in a single glide.

Pro-tip: This product is a bit pricey, but if you have a Costco membership, they have it for about half the original price.

Hair Mousse

Another one of my favorite hair products is mousse. Hair mousse has so many versatile benefits. I always use it to emphasize the natural texture of my hair or to hold in curls longer. It can also be used for extra volume, or to fight against humidity. My favorite thing about mousse is that not only does it have multiple purposes, but it will never result in crunchy or flat hair. I have used a lot of different brands and types of mousse, and they have all worked really well for me, so you can’t go wrong with it.

Pro-tip: I linked an article that goes into a lot more detail about how great mousse is!

Finishing Touch Electric Shaver

Thick hair doesn’t only mean hair on your head… unfortunately. Waxing and threading can become tedious and painful. The Finishing Touch Electric Shaver allows me to get rid of unwanted facial hair in less than a minute without any pain or irritation. It leaves my face feeling smooth and is very convenient to use.

Pro-tip: Moisturize before and after using this product because it can leave the area it was used on feeling a little dry.

After years of searching for the right products for my hair type and texture, I’m relieved that I came across these products. I can guarantee that you will not regret taking the time to try out these great products that I use in my daily hair routine! It’s definitely possible to feel like Princess Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo every day.
