For all of you collegiettes out there who love dressing up but like being comfortable, graphic tees are the way to go! Styling graphic tees can be tricky, but I promise you can wear a graphic tee for any occasion and still look trendy. If I could wear the free graphic t-shirts from my apartment complex every day for the rest of my life I totally would. Not only are these shirts free but also they’re incredibly soft and so comfortable!
As far as styling graphic tees go, the possibilities are endless! You could wear an oversized, vintage band tee as a dress and pair it with thigh-high boots. You could also wear a cropped graphic tee with meaningful words on it with high-waisted jeans, paired with block-heeled sandals for any occasion. In regards to styling graphic tees, you could dress them up or down depending on the occasion.
When styling graphic tees, you’re going to want the t-shirt to be the main attraction of your outfit. Try pairing graphic tees with simple pieces like basic shorts or mom jeans so you don’t distract people from the graphic tees. I like to think of graphic tees as statement pieces to show off. Casual and Comfy
Whenever I am going to class or just running errands, I love being casual and comfy. Throwing on a pair of leggings and a graphic tee is so simple but it looks so cute! Instead of throwing on a plain and basic shirt, try wearing an oversized graphic tee, leggings and running shoes. On days when I want to dress casually, I usually just chuck my hair in a messy bun with no makeup on, but instead of completely looking like a bum, I like throwing on a graphic tee to make it seem like I actually put some effort into my outfit.
For this outfit, I paired solid black Nike Pro leggings and a graphic tank from Victoria’s Secret Pink that says “running from my problems,” which perfectly describes me. I also threw on my favorite pair of all white Nike Juvenates. It was fairly chilly out, so I completed the outfit with a teal hoodie from H&M. This outfit is so simple, but looks like I at least put some effort into it.
Bohemian Brunch
Bohemian or boho fashion focuses on loose and flowy fabrics. My style is a blend of bohemian and edgy-ness, but I love to be in comfy clothes! To achieve the bohemian look try picking up printed maxi skirts and dresses and funky flared jeans. For even more style, throw on a pair of sandals or ankle booties to match your bohemian look. For this look, I paired a tie-dye maxi dress from Luca & Grae and layered it with my favorite shirt from Behuman that says, “Build Bridges Not Walls.” To add a little more to the outfit, I tied the shirt in a front knot for a trendy look and paired the outfit with some tan sandals from Steve Madden. This outfit is perfect for brunching, going out to dinner or just hanging out with friends. It’s a simple outfit that takes very little effort, but it looks so chic!
Edgy Evening
Graphic tees might not be the first thing you think of when it comes to choosing an outfit for a night out, but graphic tees actually make the perfect outfit, no matter the occasion! You could throw on a skin-tight maxi dress with a funky graphic t-shirt over it, chuck on strappy heels and dainty jewelry, a matching colored handbag and you’re ready for a night out! The best part about graphic tees is how comfortable they are and the variety of styles they come in.
This is probably one of my favorite looks! I was going out to dinner and I wasn’t too sure what to wear, but I knew I was going to have a major food baby and I wanted to be comfy. I decided to throw on a pair of black high-waisted jeans from Forever 21 with a black t-shirt that has the Friends logo on it. To dress up this simple look, I wore a pair of Madden Girl Bella heels that are so comfortable and stylish. For an edgier look, try throwing on a faux leather or embroidered jacket!
School Spirit
The easiest way to show your school spirit is by representing in a graphic tee! Game days aren’t the only time to show school pride. You could pair a school spirit shirt for casual wear or even dress it up for a night out. Not only are you going to look stylish, but you’re also showing off your school. I have an entire collection of school spirit shirts that I wear weekly and they’re so comfy! You could pair a school pride tee with mom jeans, leggings or even a buttoned-down mini skirt. If you’re really artsy, you could cut your graphic tee into different styles to show off school spirit in a stylish way.
For this outfit, I paired a UCF logo tank with a buttoned-down mini skirt from Forever 21. To keep myself warm, I threw on a taupe cardigan from Target that I’ve had for over seven years old. I finished off the outfit with white Converse and green round Ray-Ban sunnies. You could never have enough school spirit shirts, so stack up your collection and show off your school pride in style!
