To say the least, 2022 was an all-around interesting year. From celebrity babies to breakups, and massive public displays of discontent, it was an absolute whirlwind.

- Don’t Worry Darling

Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde met on the set of their hit movie, Don’t Worry Darling in 2021. They were photographed holding hands together just two months after Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis announced their split. Sudeikis reacted by serving Wilde custody papers during a large promotional stop for the movie in Apr. 2022.
Florence Pugh, the lead star of the movie, held a lot of discontent between her director, Wilde, and her choices, specifically over the claim of “creative differences.” Some people speculate it was because of Wilde’s impromptu relationship with Styles. Pugh also skipped Don’t Worry Darling’s press at the Venice Film Festival furthering the ongoing rumors. Wilde’s and Style’s relationship seemed to be on the rocks in November during the film’s premiere after they were photographed standing a significant distance apart. In November 2022, Styles and Wilde broke up.

During the premiere of Don’t Worry Darling, a video surfaced of Styles taking a seat next to Chris Pine, his co-star in the film. As he sat down, fans speculated that Styles spit right onto Pine’s lap, who also looked down, stopped clapping, and smiled. Both Pine and Styles denied the rumors and joke about it to this day!

During the 94th Academy Awards in March 2022, actor and comedian Chris Rock was on stage presenting the Best Feature Film Award when he made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith’s wife, and her shaved head. Will Smith then walked across the stage and slapped Rock in the face then sat down, yelling “Keep my wife’s name out your f****** mouth!” The incident prompted Smith to make a public apology on Instagram and Facebook. The photo of the incident resulted in a nationwide meme.

Liam Payne made headlines after appearing on Logan Paul’s podcast where he talked about throwing one of his former bandmates saying “If you don’t remove those hands, there’s a high likelihood you’ll never use them again,” prompting Directioners worldwide to cringe at the secondhand embarrassment. Payne also made claims that One Direction was formed around him in hopes of making him the lead singer. He also took jabs at former bandmates Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson. Zayn retaliated to Payne’s comments by posting a clip of him singing the high note to the song “You and I” after Payne took over that spot when he left the band.

Kim K has had her fair share of drama this year. First, Kim was flamed for seemingly attacking women who were not getting their “f***** a** up and work.”
Kim also sparked outrage from thousands of people online after she wore the late Marilyn Monroe’s dress that she wore to sing happy birthday to President John F. Kennedy. Kim wore the real dress to the Met Gala and received backlash after she explained how she dropped 16 pounds in just three weeks to fit into the gown.
Kim also finalized her divorce in November 2022 from Kanye West after he went on a large social media tangent with extreme anti-Semitic views. There was a lot of back and forth between Kim and Kanye regarding their legal terms. Kanye also attacked Kim’s much younger beau, Pete Davidson; however, that relationship dissolved in August.

A TikTok video surfaced of Adam Levine sliding into the DM’s of an Instagram model. Some of those messages included “That body of yours is absurd.” and “I may need to see the booty.” Levine is currently married to Benhati Prinsloo since 2014. Levine made a statement about how he used “poor judgment ” and that he had “crossed the line.”

James Cordon was called out by Keith McNally, the owner of the A-list restaurant, Balthazar. McNally ripped Cordon a new one after he verbally abused staff at the restaurant over a piece of hair. Cordon allegedly threatened to leave a bad Yelp review if he and his party were not given a free round of drinks. This sparked outrage as people all over started to share their horrid experiences with the host. He was subsequently banned from Balthazar. Cordon claimed he would apologize to the servers next time he was in town after saying the drama was “beneath” him.

Good Morning America co-hosts, TJ Holmes and Amy Robach were photographed spending an ample amount of time together, prompting rumors that they were cheating on their significant others. They were often photographed holding hands and canoodling out and about. Both hosts were taken off-air after their relationship took a toll on the show.
