The best weather is around the corner, which means the cutest outfits and accessories are upon us. Fall means everything from football games to Thanksgiving break- back to school fashion! It’s almost time to put down the bikini and tanks, and pick up these must have fall fashion statements!

10 Fall Fashion Essentials:

1) Ankle Booties-

Since fall doesn’t mean it’s full-fledged winter, ankle booties are so in! The best part about booties is that you can dress them down and up. Pair the combat-like ankle boots with some jeans (or even shorts) and a tee, or get a pair that have an added heel to dress up with your favorite sweater and high-rise skirt this fall season. The added bonus is that they’re super comfy but still trendy! Unlike knee-high boots, these won’t make you sweaty and they’re not as heavy- save the knee-highs for winter time! Off Broadway Shoes has a big selection and offers every style and brand imaginable.

2) School-Spirited College Wear-

Fall means you’re back at school collegiates! Hit up your school store this semester to support cute college wear at all the sporting and homecoming events this fall. Football season is soon, create the perfect outfit for tailgates and game days so you can go in style. If you don’t want to do that, find matching prints to coordinate with your college’s colors, it works just as cute! Don’t forget how much accessories play into the outfit as well, match it up with cute sunglasses and some bangels. Forever 21 could easily help you with that.

3) Distressed but not Miss-dressed: Ripped Jeans-

Ripped jeans go with pretty much anything. That’s the best part! There’s so many styles and ways to wear them. You easily can find a ton of DIY distressed jeans on Google and Pinterest. The dark colored jeans are a fashion statement for fall; maroon, camo green, and black. Long ripped capris compliment shoes well, and skinny tight ripped jeans look nice with a bit of an oversized top. It all depends on your style and how you like your jeans to fit! Pacsun always has a huge selection, but there’s a lot of room for creativity!

4) Pretty In Plaid-

Plaid is the definition of fall fashion! Plaid button-downs are cute with a pair of leggings, or you can tie it around your waist for a more hipster-esque vibe. You could also rock plaid under a plain colored sweater or jacket, and fold the plaid over the jacket (on your sleeves) so it shows. Plaid pattern is always in, so pick up an infinity scarf if the button-down style isn’t for you. There’s also different color patterns in plaid you could have fun with and switch it up! To get more plaid outfit ideas, look on Pinterest!

5) Dark Colored Nail Polish-

So your outfit is hot, but your nails are a hot mess? That’s a problem! Style your fingers with some fall dark colored nail polish. Maroon is the most popular, followed by browns, dark purples, and even orange if you want to stand out. Stick with darker colors for fall. I prefer Essie nail polish because there’s so many to choose from. “Sable Collar” is the perfect match. I also love, “A-List” and “Bahama Mama.” You know your taste best, though.

6) Scarves-

Add flavor to your fall outfits by adding fun scarves! Infinity scarves are the fad, but really any type of scarf could do the job. It’s always awesome to get insight from other fashionistas on the internet on all the different ways to style and wrap them to wear. Whether you wear it sophisticated or cozy with a beanie, scarves are the perfect go-to accessory for the season.

7) Big Sweaters-

Thank goodness big sweaters exist, and cardigans! They’re so easy to throw on in the morning and it’s easy to make your outfit look cute without really trying. Comfortable sweaters still look adorable dressed with jeans and sneakers—and Converse are always in style. Big sweaters also are simple with long socks and combat boots, or for just a chill night in with leggings. You could dress up your sweater outfit too by your hair style. Braid your hair to the side and with a Curling Wand, curl the left over straggling hairs and put on a long necklace and some earrings. H&M usually has nice sweaters in season!

8) Dark Lipstick-

This is a love or hate kind of thing. Some girls really pull this look off, and others stick to sheer colors- but it’s undeniable dark lipstick is really in style and especially for the fall season. Don’t be afraid to be bold and try it out! Spice up your outfit with a shade that works with your skin tone. Check out Mac Cosmetics for some amazing lipsticks.

9) Head Wear –

Hats, beanies, headbands, fedoras, oh my! Head accessories are ideal for bad hair days, plus they add some sass to your outfit. You could even style up a baseball cap with some boyfriend jeans if you’re not a complete girly-girl, or rock a beanie with a band tee. Cold or not cold this fall, there’s head wear for everything. Hats and headbands usually add the most compliments to an outfit, and you can literally find them anywhere.

10) Black Is The New Black-

All black everything! Welcome to the season where literally everything you find in stores is in black! It usually stays like that for a couple months up until spring. So say goodbye to floral and neon colors and welcome in the sexy black outfits. Black outfits are nice to match with accent colors, red especially. Find some red shoes or a red scarf, or any color really, to add personality to your outfit. Or not, and just stick to black. Most things do look better in black though, am I right?
