This week, The Mindy Project returns with brand new episodes for the second half of its fourth season. Unfortunately, this show has almost received cancellation multiple times, but luckily, after being axed by Fox it has been saved by Hulu. It is by far one of my favorite shows of all time, if you’re looking for a new show to binge watch, trust me, this one is it.

Here are a few reasons why:

1. It’s hilarious. Like so many of my favorite female driven shows (Gilmore Girls, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), The Mindy Project features fast dialogue with extremely quick wit.

2. It is written by/ created by/ starring Queen Mindy Kaling. She is the only Indian American woman who has created and starred in her own show. Representation matters, and Mindy is an excellent role model.

3. It is passionate in a can’t-wait-until-next-week type of way. I can only describe it as a romantic comedy in half hour increments. Love, laughs, drama–it has it all.

4. The. Fashion. Is. Insane.

5. It takes risks unlike any other show I’ve seen–it’s not afraid to break up relationships, change dynamics, add characters, or test new plotlines in a way that totally works and seamlessly intertwines with the series.
