Parteek Singh ’17

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCD chapter.

Name:

Parteek Singh

Hometown:

Yuba City, CA

Relationship Status:

Single but I’d love to mingle.

Birthday:

February 10th 1996

Major:

Managerial Economics with a minor in Communications

Campus Involvement:

I’m president of the Council for International Development, Business, and Finance commissions of ASUCD and a representative of the CSI Club Advisory Council. I’m also planning to  run for ASUCD Senate.

Are you crushing on anyone right now?:

Yes, but I don’t think I should say who.

How would you describe yourself?

A complicated tease. I’m very flirty on the outside, but I love to get to know the intimate details about people. I’m very outgoing and I love meeting new people, whether they can be friends or more than friends ;)

Craziest thing you’ve ever done?

When I was back home, I was all out of condoms. I was in desperate need of a condom, so I went to my parents’ room and looked through their stash. They only had one condom and I thought, “If I use this, they’re gonna know I took it.” I decided that safe sex is the best sex, and I used it.

What’s on your bucket list before graduation?

I really want to milk a cow and take a selfie with a squirrel.

What inspires you?

People. When I see students on campus that are super outgoing doing more than I do, it inspires me and makes me think, “What more can I do so I can make a difference?”

If you could be anybody else in the world who would it be?

Why should you be anyone else when you can be yourself?

What’s something you can’t live without?

It’s so sad, but my phone.

Perfect date?

A coffee date on campus, I’m pretty lame like that. It’s convenient, it’s in between classes, and if the person turns out to be crazy, I can wave at another friend and leave. I also don’t have a car so biking downtown would make me sweaty for my date.

What is something you want people to know about you?

I’m an open book, but there is one story that not a lot of people know about me. When I was little, I had a puppy named Penny. One night, I left the backyard gate open. The next morning, I was walking to the bus stop to go to school and I saw her laying on the side of the road. She had been hit by a car. I didn’t want to believe it was her and my parents tried to tell me it was another dog that looked like her, but I knew that was Penny. I was heartbroken and I cried for days. I felt responsible for her death and I couldn’t deal with that pain. I never had a pet after that even though I love animals.

Favorite show:

Game of Thrones and House of Cards

Dream Car?

Any car that comes with a driver.

Go To Hangout Spot:

The quad. I love people watching and I get to see most of my friends.

Favorite UC Davis Event:

Formal Without Borders. It’s a fun event where you can chill with your friends and the proceeds go to charity. I’m hosting it next quarter.

Hobbies/Talents:

I’m talentless. I enjoy playing volleyball, hanging out, jogging when I have the energy, exploring new places, and taking nature and scenery photos. Check out my Instagram: parteek_s. Feel free to stalk me!

Would you rather explore space or the ocean?

The ocean. I’ve seen pictures and videos of the ocean. It looks like it’s filled with beautiful, yet dangerous things. I love exploring nature.

Would you rather make a phone call or send a text?

Make a phone call. It’s more intimate.

Would you rather spend the night in a luxurious hotel room or camp while surrounded by beautiful scenery?

Surrounded by beautiful scenery of course.

Would you rather date your celebrity crush or your real life crush?

My real life crush.

Would you rather be caught taking a selfie or taking a picture of your crush?

A selfie.

Hey everyone! My name is Chandni and I first came to Davis as a transfer student. Now that I'm in my final year, I've learned a lot about campus life in a really short amount of time. I'm an economics and psychology major and I love animals! I love meeting new people, so if you ever see me around, come over and say hi! :)
