Shah’s Halal Food Truck

This is the perfect Mediterranean fix available right on campus. Shah’s’ menu is simple, yet satisfying and super filling. Their rice plates – which you can order with chicken, lamb, or falafel – come with salad on the side. They also add in their white sauce and, if you want it spicy, Sriracha sauce. All the flavors mixed together is honestly heaven. If you’re not a rice fan or simply like something wrapped up, then each meat comes in gyro form! The ingredients are the same, just no rice and it’s wrapped in a yummy warm pita bread.  *Bonus* Each meal comes with a drink!

El Rapido Grill Food Truck

Surprise! It’s run by the same owner of the Shah’s Halal Food Truck, so it also uses Halal ingredients. This food truck is the perfect quick stop to satisfy any Mexican food cravings you may have. Their menu covers burritos, bowls, quesadillas, and tacos with the meat options of chicken, beef, or veggie. *Bonus* It’s right next to the ARC! So make sure to treat yourself after a good workout.

Davis Creamery

They were previously known as Jake’s Desserts (which I liked better) but everything still tastes the same, which is great! The best thing about Davis Creamery is that their ice cream is homemade and comes in unique, delicious flavors. I mean, they have avocado coconut and horchata ice cream! But if you’re not too adventurous when it comes to ice cream, you’ll still love it because they have classic flavors that are SO creamy! Davis Creamery not only has ice cream, but also cupcakes, cookies, and milkshakes. This is hands down my favorite ice cream place at Davis.

Bambū

Bambū has all sorts of sweet drinks. Ranging from milk tea, hot drinks, coffee, fruit smoothies, and desserts, Bambū covers it all. I personally love their smoothies. I still don’t know what kind of magic they use, but Bambū knows how to make the smoothies so thick. Their flavors are also pretty unique with choices such as avocado, green apple, and lime berry smoothies. My favorite and go-to smoothie is strawberry banana. Sorry Jamba Juice, but you are nothing compared to Bambū.

Juscos

I am so happy I was introduced to this little hole-in-the-wall sushi restaurant. Not only is it all-you-can-eat sushi, but they have SO many different options. My favorite part about Juscos is that their rolls are diverse when it comes to sashimi. Most other all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants in Davis are stingy with their sashimi and just substitute it with crab meat inside. But Juscos doesn’t do that. Oh, and did I mention that when you order they make it fresh for you??? That’s right, FRESH, none of that sitting-out-on-the-conveyor-belt-for-an-hour shit. You deserve fresh sushi, and Juscos will definitely give you your money’s worth.

Zumapoke & Lush Ice

Speaking of sashimi…POKE! This little place just opened up last year and the hype is still up about poke.  This place includes plates where, depending on the side you ordered, you get different types of sashimi with rice and crab meat PLUS any other yummy sides you want. I really enjoyed the freshness of the sashimi and the variety of options available. Also, the meal fills you up pretty quickly and satisfies any sashimi cravings you may be having.
